I think their contracts are about equally as bad, but feel like Paul is one injury away from being done. I'd have been happy to keep him with how everything has shaken down, but I think overall I'm optimistic to see what they can do. The NBA season needs to go ahead and start.

I had talked myself into the Wiggins acquisition last weekend when dealing Russ became inevitable because he fits the Thunder prototype of finding guys who can do a lot of things (but not shoot!)

Seriously. IMO, the Clippers have the best roster but I’d probably bet on the Bucks if I had to place a preseason wager. Milwaukee and Denver are the only top teams from last year that have kept their key pieces largely intact. There has to be at least some value in continuity, right?

If I'm reading all the analysis of Wiggins correctly, isn't the problem that he can't do those other things well either?

Paul to Detroit would be the NBA version of whatever that movie was where all the old actors rode motorcycles

That's what I was hanging my hat on with the Rockets.

yeah, I should have said "he fits the Thunder prototype of finding guys who are super athletic (but not shoot!)". the lot of things being his athleticism and the things he can do with it

and maybe he likes OKC? I say that in jest. But he averaged 28 PPG against the Thunder last year and over 21 PPG for his career against OKC

EdRomero wrote: Fri Jul 12, 2019 7:41 am I initially thought of one of the Heat's pick becoming good, but I thought about them being a well run organization, in the East, and a place players want to play as preventing the pick from becoming really good. Anyway, I'm not as negative about Presti's horde of picks now as I was last night

And after saying later picks are pretty meaningless, I'm getting way too excited about the Celtics' later picks they made this year.
Me too. I've watched way more summer league than ever. They look really good. Cs can actually use a perimeter scoring 2 and Carsen Edwards is definitely that. Wouldn't be surprised if all except the lotto pick end up playing in the NBA for a while.

Interesting development. Obviously tampering is rampant, as several big free agent deals appeared to be in place before free agency even opened. And I don’t think that bothers anyone too much. But teams offering extra-contractual compensation is a bigger deal, if it’s happening.

For me anyway, Rich Paul is on the Reggie Cleveland/Khalil Green All-Star team. (But in reverse).
