Yeah 3rd placed Finland is behind Ukraine so they're pretty much out.

Ukraine now sit and wait.
First, they need Croatia and Scotland to draw (which eliminates both teams)
Failing that. They need Spain to beat Slovakia AND Poland to not win.
Failing that. They need France to beat Portugal by 3.

So, if my math's is right, France and Portugal can just play out a draw and know they will both go through. Half of match ups in the last 16 will be dependent those final two matches in group F, with France and Portugal having a huge advantage in playing each other...

This could be a a drawn version of the "Disgrace in Gijon" from the 1982 World Cup in Spain. With a completely Spanish officiating team for this match, I doubt they'll have any trouble passing it around for 90 minutes...

Even a loss qualifies both (someone would have to lose by 3 or 4) So it's not quite the desperation of West Germany in 1982. Plus it's advantageous to win the group so I don't think they would want Germany to leapfrog into 1st. Runner up F may have to play England at Wembley if England wins today. And Third placed F plays Italy or Belgium.

And I don't think the Disgrace of Gijon could happen today. There would be severe penalties.

If your assuming that Hungary loses then Portugal would have to lose by 3.
Portugal is +1 with 5 goals for
Ukraine is -1 with 4 goals for

If Hungary wins, Portugal are out with any loss since they would be last in the group.

yes, but if Portugal goals goal diff is the same as Ukraine (-1) then goals for is next.
