As far as I know, teams are not allowed to do that.

For the record, I thought I said there must be something more than him just being hurt and AB took the next step implying it was drug test related. PFT has this today:

Maybe they felt this behavior was evidence he was using or about to use again, or they just felt it wasn't worth dealing with anymore.

Another thing I read is with Harry coming back they had to cut a WR, and they felt Jakobi Meyers and Gunner were better to keep on the roster long term. I'm not convinced of that one, and if they lose in the playoffs because receivers can't get open, this move will haunt them.

Finally, there is good salary cap relief with Seattle claiming him, and they've been dealing with less cap flexibility than they've had in the past.

Josh Gordon with Russell Wilson should be super fun to watch.

Boston media citing "chatter", "rumblings", "unnamed sources", and/or "scuttlebutt" performing character assassination on an athlete days after leaving a Boston team. Shocking.

He also isn't getting the separation he once was, I guess he was working out while he was suspended and really bulked up so went from a deep guy to a possession guy. That said, wish we would've kept him as I'm not the biggest Dorsett guy and hard to rely solely on Edelman until Sanu gets up to speed.

Lukewarm take: Russell Wilson could do Mahomes-level shit if given the opportunity.

I don’t know if I’d go that far but I agree that Wilson has been insanely underrated in his career so far. That may be because he checks basically every box that generates cognitive biases against QBs. Wilson’s Seahawks teams from 2012-2014 had so much defensive talent that people acted like Wilson was just a caretaker when in fact he made tons of big plays in their playoff runs. And he’s continued to be productive without having elite surrounding talent.

He’s as productive as Mahomes. But without nearly as many eye-popping highlight-reel plays. Mahomes does things done by no other QB.

To be fair, those (incredibly nasty) plays were penalties in 1977 as well.

I remember that Turkey Jones battering of Bradshaw. Think he was thrown out of the game too.

Pats have probably played the weakest schedule in modern NFL history to this point (not their fault, obvs) so it will be interesting to see how they do against an actual NFL team. Best team they’ve played all year is Buffalo.

Not just penalties but major personal fouls. And Brent Musberger was cancelled!

In fairness, Pruitt said those were all penalties, but imagine an NFL show today using horrendous personal fouls as the majority of the intro.

I am kind of surprised someone didn't slap the suicide scene from "The Last Boy Scout" onto the end of the Willie Brown clip at the end.

Settling for a long FG burned the Colts today even if it didn't last week.

Gonna be that guy and say the Steelers almost got dicked by shitty PI calls (or non-calls) and the wackass review results. I think both the PI that was called and OPI that wasn’t were bad calls, but not sure Tomlin should have challenged the second since it’s clear the bar to make a change in review is so high. Even saying that I didn’t have an issue with the first challenge.

Thankfully Vinatieri can’t kick anymore.

The slow whistle and then calling a late hit before halftime was bad too.

How did the Jets beat the Cowboys a few weeks ago?

Bills pats in foxboro looking pretty large. Pats can go a long way towards a super bowl appearance with a win tonight. Not feeling likely to be honest. Even with a loss, a home game against buffalo gets them the bye.

Before this week's games, Football Outsiders gives the Pats as a 35.8% chance to win the Super Bowl. I think they're gonna be fine, barring significant injuries.

Anyone hear about Browns CB Jermaine Whitehead’s tweets after the loss to the Broncos??

Apparently he called some radio guy some racist names then threatened to kill some fans?? His Twitter was suspended so he then went on his verified IG and started.

I imagine he will get released today?

I'll play homer here but I don't want to hear about it in that game. a total of 10 points gifted to PIT on absolutely egregious 15 yard roughness penalties. That was one of the worst officiated games I've seen in a long time, on both sides.

And yea, Vinny needs to go.

Only saw chunks of the 4th quarter via Red Zone, so no comment.

Speaking of Red Zone, the guy on the non-DirectTV version seems to talk a lot less than Siciliano on DTV. I think I like it.

I understand that the bar is high but how in fuck's name was the 2nd one not a clear push-off by the WR?

I think if you're going to review pass interference, it should be done like scores and turnovers in that every one is reviewed in the booth and if it's reallly egregious they can call down with a reversal. But still, the 2nd one looked blatant even in real time.

Of course neither were as bad as that personal foul against the Colts player on the punt. Jeez that was awful.
