Montana - 16 seasons as a true utility guy in 70s-80s, only had one season of more than 350 ABs
Virginia - 4-time all star, played part of 18 seasons, primarily for Detroit
Iowa - Played whole career for Indians, had a son who pitched two games in the Majors

No to Seager, though if you added Corey's numbers they would lead by 1!

Santo Correct, Albert Belle not in the HOF and a full 130 HR's behind LA's leader.
RF + HoF + 500 HR club ... Reggie?

Berra was born in MO, but is 24 HR behind the leader, who was definitely on a HOF track and will NOT be a HOFer.

I'm trying to think of hints for the others, but they aren't giving me a lot to work with. MS, AR, MO, KS,and ND definitely names Baseball fans would reasonably know, however.

Arkansas's guy is probably more known for his glove than his bat.

And Dunn has 20 more Homers than the OR guy, but 700+ more walks and 500+ more strikeouts in just over 1000 more PAs.

Oh I don't care for that. Kingman was 8.2% for his career, league average for 1972-86 was 8.5%.

I think I've got KY. Guy who looks like he'd be from Kentucky as well as the Hank Sauer / Pat Burrell comps means he's going to be Jay Buhner.

Who of course is immortalized in the classic Seinfeld episode where Frank Costanza, upon learning of his son's death from George Steinbrenner, unloads on him about trading him away.

And then the message he leaves on Jerry's answering machine:

Jerry it's Frank Costanza, Mr. Steinbrenner is here, George is dead, call me back.

He pretty much led the league in strikeouts through my little league years (age 7-12). I should've mentioned Gorman Thomas too, come to think of it.

Sigh. Mel Ott (appears as the #2 comp for both Sheffield and Robinson).

If you'd instead said "he spent his 22 year career for one team, approximately 1300 miles from his birthplace" I'd have probably pulled my hair out.

Many years ago a young bfj was tasked to write an article for his little Jewish day school newspaper. He wanted to reach out to the only MLB ballplayer on his favorite ball club with a jewish sounding name. He wrote some questions on a piece of loose leaf paper and mailed them off to his favorite team to that player’s attention.

He asked his birthday, his hometown and his Hebrew name. This player answered all the questions.

I learned a few things when he wrote back.
1. He was from Montana
2. He wasn’t a Jew
3. A bunch of other crap I’ve since forgotten.

That man was John “Brother Lo” Lowenstein.

5,000+ PAs, debut 1947 or later, Kingman is actually 39th in 3TO percentage. No one above him has a lower BB%. Fuck.

The inverse of Dunn, the All False Outcomes leader, is Felix Millan at 9.2% 3TO.

CO is Chase Headley.

What is up with CO's all time HR hitter at only 130?

Only two players from CO are in the HOF. They're both pitchers.
