Yeshiva University's men's hoops team played first round d3 tourney at JHU. Hoping for a sellout but no fans allowed and the Yeshiva hotel reservation was cancelled.

The Macabbis won.

Tim Hortons just announced they are cancelling the Roll Up To Win contest this year because of Covid19. Now it's real.

But the Syracuse / hopkins lax game had tons of fans. Was that because it was outside? I got caught in the fans leaving as I was driving home from work today...

I think Monday.
I’m supposed to fly to STL for work that day. Legit a little concerned about being able to fly back later in the week.
So far there haven't been any reported cases here. My wife's a doctor so I'm sure she'll hear pretty quickly if/when there are any cases. I'll post here if anything is reported in the next week.
We’ve now got our first case here: a college student who was studying abroad in Italy. She’s under home quarantine out in the St. Louis County suburbs. As of now her parents are apparently not showing symptoms.

What is your reference ? Carry on for everyone not pox’d? I have been thinking on chicken pox as you have to be old enough to remember it being an active problem to be managed.

I know my odds so I don't really care for me, but I think this weekend and next would have been the best time to pump the brakes.
Update: at the Atlanta United game last night, the lines to wash hands in the men's room were longer than the lines to pee. I'm not exaggerating. So there's hope for us all.

State dept issues warning to not travel by cruise. Which, given how bad they are at this means you may be fine.

Unless they cancel the cruise I’m doing it. The warning I saw from the CDC was that people over 60 shouldn’t cruise.

My main concern would be that I'd get stuck on the ship like those two (at least) others that countries wouldn't allow to disembark. That would suuuuck.

This is a pretty big step as this is a Masters 1000 tournament, just one step down from Grand Slams in prestige.

company cancelled all travel at least through march. and my trip to India was rescheduled to October -- no one wants to get stuck not being able to fly home.

no word on official WFH - i'm certainly not going to the city.. between NJT and Path trains.. on par with 3rd world public transportation (and i know)... so basement office it is for now.. .

Soccer Club board agreed on saturday to shut training sessions off if and when the schools closed - following what travel baseball agreed as well so at least we're consistent-- schools have a min two week shut down plan (not public yet).

went to league meeting (Mid NJ for those who care) on thursday -- all they said was that neither US Soccer nor NJ Soccer have anything on the matter -- just told to avoid end of game handshake... and that league wont force forfeits if teams can't field teams..

Costco was out of water on Friday but i hear saturday they were restocked.. no worries here.. basement fridge is always stocked.

bars were packed saturday night, drove by two local malls yesterday and were pretty empty, although that may have had to do with the weather.

and this morning in the local FB pages, a Merck Director posted a long thread w links and graphs about how the US is following Italy's trajectory - i wont post the link - but if you want to see the whole thing - his fb page is public - Erik Dienemann

back to skype!

Assuming that ppl stocking up on water aren't tap-drinkers, right? Or am I missing something? Is corona gonna dry our reservoirs?

If you, say, live in Baltimore, where water mains break all the time (the city's infrastructure is VERY old) and sometimes take quite awhile to fix, if one were to break with a lot of people quarantined, you might want some water on hand.

The water thing, for the most part, is just like buying milk and toilet paper before a snow storm. (Silliness.)

Like tb said, it's always good to have some potable water around, especially in the winter where a water main break might not get fixed for more than 24 hours.

But that's really the high end. Unless it's a full on blizzard, we're gonna have the roads cleared and access to water mains inside of 48 hours.

It's gonna be in the 70s here in MD today. I think we're in the clear.

Stopped by the store on Saturday morning to pick up some meds, partly to have on hand, but also because my oldest was already sick. While everyone was busy stocking up on toilet paper, the cold and flu meds section was almost entirely stocked.

Wish I could say the same here. My daughter started coming down with a cold, tried to get her some zinc, and zinc is sold out at every store.
