Yeah yeah yeah the virus doesn’t distinguish between Democrats and Republicans but this thing is definitely gonna kill more Republicans.

The bars will have to close this week. The mayors and governors know they have blood on their hands.

It is so nuts to me that Trump brags about the "Greatest Economy Evah!", but then we have to worry about kids who won't get meals if schools close. That's fucked up.

I'm deployed right now and I can't even flush toilet paper or baby wipes. I have to walk long distances to go to the bathroom tents. I'm in a much dumber asswiping scenario right now. (And that's not including redeployers! Ammiright?) But there's no hysteria.

It's so fucking weird.
I don’t want to take 3 showers a day.

Just use the shower head to clean your ass.
I do t have a shower at say, work.

Obviously Trump sucks shit but he’s hardly alone in this respect. Way too many people across the spectrum of politics and the political media make the mistake of treating the stock market as synonymous with “the economy.” There is a huge swath of American society that lives paycheck to paycheck, or even meal to meal, who can’t even dream of having a 401(k). This crisis is going to expose just how desperate the circumstances are for tens of millions of Americans.

If you would still go to work during a pandemic even after your office building ran out of toilet paper then you are in like the 99.99th percentile of diligent employees.

The article is pretty silly. You couldn't lift these rules all the time. This is going to cost alot in hopefully a short period of time.

The point is they shouldn't be rules in the first place. Liquids on a plane? Capped broadband internet? The police helping evict tenants? Suddenly it all goes away when a real threat presents itself.

Also, this isn't good:

If broadband is uncapped, you're just going to get slow shitty service. The tower will get congested.

I expect a counter article.

Not for nothing, but big broadband companies sue municipalities trying to have their own high speed fiber lines that offer better speeds because of course they do.

So if the towers get congested, then build more towers, billion dollar a year industry making an eventual public utility shittier than it needs to be.

Of course they will just make the government pay for it.
The arguments in the article, if they were to be the norm, would just end up in government subsidies to cover forfeited rent for example.

The government already gets conned into everything. Making things shittier to get someone to pay for improvements is always a bargaining ploy. This would be an easy case.

I just went to my local grocery store for a few things ... it was closed.

Apparently they've gone to reduced hours, so will open at 10 today. And if that's to allow more employees to stay home, I guess that's a good thing. But it was pretty eerie to walk up to locked doors in broad daylight.

Maybe staying deployed longer isn't a bad thing.

(If you're wondering, there's no immediate answer to what next for me, but I'm not going to be mad if my original date to redeploy gets pushed back.)

Restaurant we went to last night has a normal maximum occupancy of 309. They were allowed 70 customers inside and 25 on their patio. Watching people storm out after being told they could not be given an estimate for wait time because the restaurant can't seat anyone until someone else leaves was telling.

A couple assholes literally came in and sat directly between the two of us and another two people at the bar while there were about six empty seats on the other side of us. We slid down two seats after a couple minutes.

Tonight should be the last night eating out (catering after that). Cannot wait to go home Wednesday. Hoping I can leave that morning instead of at the end of the day.

Same we had some pizza delivered from a local place last night even though we have plenty of food thinking even that option may not be viable soon enough.

Yea, I guess I'm lucky because I literally can't be tempted to go out and do things, but people just should not be interacting with others right now, for real.

The local sportsbar had a surprising amount of people in it for there being no sports.

Samesies. I've heard rumblings that forced business closures are in the works (which is fucking needed because I've gone on 2 dog walks today and restaurants are all packed.)
