First Mookie, then Brady.Who's next? Chara, Pastrnak, Tatum? 2020's been wonderful.
Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
Oh come on. I like the guy too but he's old and it's past time to move forward. Totally aside from his play how do you roll with any kind of long term plan with a 40 something leader. Mookie hit me way harder than this cause that was the future they gave up on.

Sending out a message that says 'Forever a Patriot, but...' on St Patricks Day...when bars are closed...is some special kinda saltiness.

Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
Brady must genuinely want to leave because I was convinced Kraft would overrule Belichick and match/top any other team’s offer. Apparently the Bucs are the betting favorite but I think he’s gonna pull a LeBron and sign with the Chargers to set up his post-career life in Los Angeles.
Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
I'm not sure who should feel more deflated today - Pats fans or Texans fans.
well this is gonna be someone's new signature - bronto
Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
Evidently the asked Brady what he wanted rather than making an offer to him. I guess Brady sees that as disrespect.Joe K wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 12:42 pm Brady must genuinely want to leave because I was convinced Kraft would overrule Belichick and match/top any other team’s offer. I'm really sad to see him go, but if we're rebuilding I'd rather try to do it on the fly with some the vets we have now.
Also, talk of Belichick seeing the leaves in how hard it is to get pieces to fit the Pats system as a lot of college teams don't run the option route and throw to the spot system that Brady loves. So with Stidham or whoever, the offence is going to look a lot different.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
Oh yeah. It was St. Patty's.

Someone else mentioned that for Mahomes and Reid to break this record, they'd have to still be together in 2037.

The thought of seeing Tom Brady wearing a Doug Williams-era 'Creamsicle' uniform might be enough to get me to watch football again.

Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
Those Bucs uniforms looked ridiculous at the time.
Now they wouldn't be in the bottom ten of uniforms - and they're a lot better than the awful uniforms they wear now. What's with the outdated computer font?

Word is they're going back to the Super Bowl era unis (or something close to it). I'm 100% on board with going back to creamsicle. I think they look great, and got a bad rap because the team was so shit.

Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
This is funny to me, as I was living in Boston then, and still somewhat following MLB, NHL and NBA, so I know most of these names and probably less than 2 players on the current rosters. My friend's roommate was the trainer for the Celtics, so we used to go out to clubs with some of the players, or smoke bongs with them in my friend's apartment. I was one of maybe 10 white people at Antoine Walker's birthday party of 200+ people. One of the most bizarre nights, as I was way too fucked up to be in public before we got there, and you couldn't turn around without a split of Veuve being handed to you. And the weed paranoia just had me constantly thinking, "nobody wants you here."

I still wear my Mo Lewis jersey to games, and every time I put it on I think about the play he started Brady's career. I mean, it would have happened eventually, right? Bledsoe was on the down slide at that point.

Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
Bledsoe was pretty much brady before Brady. Relative to prior success of course. Grogan the only other guy I recall ever achieving anything. Flutie was a fan fave. Eason won a few games. I mean but for Mo Lewis no guarantee the world ever know who Brady is.
Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
Bledsoe threw too many INTs in Belichick's view. If Bledsoe wasn't under that HUGE contract (for the time) I think he would have been replaced earlier. I remember seeing how easy the offence flowed under Brady that preseason. Bledsoe was up there with Farve and Rivers in terms of back-breaking INTs.The Sybian wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 12:40 pmI still wear my Mo Lewis jersey to games, and every time I put it on I think about the play he started Brady's career. Re: Patriot-era Tom Brady
I remember Brady seeing guys open up earlier. Bledsoe had some gunslinger so I'll take the good with the bad but by that time he had the want to see it first thing going on and held the ball a lot.
