Director: Kathryn Bigelow (Bigelow would go on to become the first and still only woman to win a Best Director Oscar for The Hurt Locker in 2008. Of interest to at least one Swamper, she is originally from San Carlos, CA.
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze (RIP!), Gary Busey, Lori Petty
Running Time: 121 minutes

Tentatively planned for Thursday, March 19 as of now. The idea here is to just post whatever you want during the movie. If you want to go the MSTK3K route, that's cool. If you just want to point out really incredible scenes, also cool. Hopefully, it'll be fun. We'll see I guess. The only rule that I really feel like throwing out there is just be cool to everyone else who is participating. Some light razzing in the general spirit of the Swamp is fine.

I thought so too, but I'm going to have to rent it. Considering I haven't spent money on anything in a week, think I can swing the $3. (BTW, it is NOT available for two-day delivery on Amazon Prime. I checked.)

Watched Ferris Bueller last night with the kids (12 & 9). They enjoyed it very much.

They’ve watched Ghostbusters, a couple of the Back to the Futures before.

Coming up Teen Wolf, the Rocky movies (perfect timing to unveil the catalog), The Natural, Field of Dreams.

Many more I’m sure. Our schools are currently closed for two weeks and it’s going to go longer than that - perhaps much longer.

I was going to DVR Point Break on Thursday morning on the Syfy network, but I just saw that it is the inferior 2015 version. So, I'm going to pull it down on DirecTV OnDemand.

A couple things I'm gonna throw back out before this thing starts:

Due to an injury, Patrick Swayze could not surf in the movie "Point Break". In addition to having a surfing double, in all close-up scenes of Swayze surfing, he was actually riding a jet-ski.

Prior to casting Anthony Kiedis in "Point Break," Kathryn Bigelow offered the role to Henry Rollins.

-The word "Utah" is said
-Johnny's football past is mentioned
-Johnny is called rookie/kid/young

Current Events Bonus - a Corona is shown

Finish your drink when:
-Johnny fires his gun into the air in frustration

I'm guessing I'm the only one here who actually saw it at the theater in its initial run?

I haven't seen it since then! (So, it'll be somewhat new again to me. I remember the basic plot, but that's about all.)
