Don't want to be pushy, but I kind of don't want to wait another 6 days?

My wife loves Patrick Swayze, but refuses to watch Point Break or Roadhouse because standards I guess, but good luck dragging her away from Dirty Dancing or Ghost.

When I made mine watch RH she got EXTREMELY pissed that they (re)used These Arms of Mine for the sex scene.

I love this idea, if I'm able to stay awake for it...I've been having an interesting sleep schedule.

Building off of this idea, is there a tv show nobody has watched on Prime or Netflix, which we could watch as a group? I'm thinking about how we had good discussions for GOT and Mad Men. I was thinking about Hunters on Prime since it's relatively new.

Great idea. We wouldn't even need to watch the TV show together. We could just say Mad Men Season 1, episode 1 this week, etc.

At the risk of unintentionally sounding like an ass, if you and whomever else want to curate another night of your choosing like Monday or Tuesday, go for it. Just save Thursday for D-Safe and I. We all have plenty of time on our hands, plenty of weeks this quarantine thing is probably gonna go and I wouldn't necessarily mind getting together for a movie with y'all more than once a week, but I only want to handle scheduling one movie a week. People can join in whenever they're able/free for any night.

We'll try to come up with stuff that everyone will like for Thursdays, but also wanna throw some curveballs in there.

Makes sense. I dig as much content as we can create, but maybe best to claim a day at this point.

Don't forget -- 9 p.m. ET tonight. Available on Amazon Prime. Like last week we'll do a 10-minute break about halfway in.

Not sure when I'll be able to log on tonight, and my copy was recently recorded on YouTubeTV from Sundance channel (with commercials), so at least one intermission like we did last week will be helpful.

I saw that. Wish I had pointed that out. Includes commercials but I believe AMC does not cut for time so would be pretty easy to keep up.

I just thought it was hilarious that my last post about it was "It's on AMC all the time"

Do we have an idea of what scene will be the pause point or are we just gonna wing it?

Figuring we start at 9:05 Eastern (as we did last week) and a 1:54 running time, middle hits basically at 10pm.

Just rented it from YouTube and the scene where Dalton is picked up to go to Brad Wesley's house (brunch!) is the one that bridges the midway point. It runs about four minutes and my inclination is the end of this scene works as a better place to pause.

I also suggest starting at 16 or 17 seconds in when the music starts, after the MGM and United Artists' logos.

Can you tell I am not working?

With the short pre-roll, may as well should just go with press play from the start at 9:05pm. Just simpler.

I would guess the answer is "no", but is anyone participating tonight going to enjoy this cinematic triumph for the first time?

I texted one of my best friends who has loved this movie since 1989.

Me: Guess which movie I'm seeing for the first time tonight.

Him: Road House?

Me: WTF?!?

Realizing now I don't think I've ever seen the movie with sound since most of my viewings were when my parents were sleeping and trying not to wake them up and see what I was watching.

Also it's weird how this gets shown on non-premium cable so often when almost all of its appeal revolves around the things that are edited out.

Commando is the absolute quintessential '80s action move. It would be perfect.

I don't think the word "roadhouse" is ever actually said in the movie.

(Not sure if that is supposed to be what makes the FG gag funny or what.)

Gotta say, that's impressive.
