Is there a better movie soundtrack to run to on a treadmill? The answer is obviously no.

Saw most of it again recently. It is as horrible (in a fun way) as I remembered.

I think this is gonna be a good one this week. Something to note is that Rocky IV might be one of the shortest shooting scripts by pages in the last 50 or so years at least. There are two long fights and at least four montages. It couldn’t have been 45 pages. It’s basically Stallone mailing it in for the payday.

We'll all just start at 9:10pm Eastern the top of the movie, prior to the MGM lion, as the audio comes up less than 30 seconds in.

The end of the "No Easy Way Out" music video, uh, I mean montage should be our break point. It comes at almost literally the midpoint of the movie's run time (about 45:47) and ends with Rocky driving off into the distance in a tunnel. The scene we will come back to starts with the town car driver tossing an ugly plaid suitcase into the trunk.

Two worlds collide
Rival nations
It's a primitive clash
Venting years of frustrations
Bravely we hope
Against all hope
There is so much at stake
Seems our freedom's up
Against the ropes
Does the crowd understand?
Is it East versus West
Or man against man
Can any nation stand alone
In the burning heart
Just about to burst
There's a quest for answers
An unquenchable thirst
In the darkest night
Rising like a spire
In the burning heart
The unmistakable fire
In the burning heart
In the warrior's code
There's no surrender
Though his body says stop
His spirit cries, never
Deep in our soul
A quiet ember
Knows it's you against you
It's the paradox
That drives us on
It's a battle of wills
In the heat of attack
It's the passion that kills
The victory is yours alone

Realized in the last few days this might be my winner for "movie I know the most about without actually having watched the whole thing."

You know, this one fits into "everyone has seen the movie" territory in my brain. But, like every time we do this, someone hasn't. Just makes it better for some reason.

Is it safe to say this movie single-handedly ended the cold war or just mostly?

The device of having the two flagged gloves at the beginning is the first of many horrible directorial decisions.

"Die in 3? You're gonna watch Apollo die!"

I was roughly the same age as this kid when I saw this movie and I definitely thought he sucked then. Of course I could have been jealous of the robot and having Rocky for a dad.

Apollo dying by one of the dogs knocking the TV into the pool would have been better.

Hot take: Talia Shire was more attractive than given credit for because people associate her with wallflower Adrian from Rocky 1.

How much of a horrible actor does Lundgren have to be for him to only get like three or four lines, even in Russian?
