Rumors that genius Elmo’s next move is to make block and mute functions subscription only. I cannot believe he would be that dumb.

What a great plan to distract the police so the two getting arrested could escape.

Are we sure this wasn't a Gemstones season 3 preview?

I was going to confess to never seeing the whole movie. Seen clips or sections, but never grabbed my interest. Seems like one of those that you had to watch at the time, at a young age, and it hold nostalgic value well beyond it's actual quality. But, since I've never seen it, what do I know?

I think for me it's Belushi. I don't like Animal House either.

100 percent that movie does not hold up today.

But also 100 percent my love for it is about watching it (as a kid) grow from the goofy musical act, to them putting out that album and touring on it, and then seeing it turned into a movie. With all the undertones of "I probably shouldn't be allowed to watch any of this" a primary driver of the nostalgia.

Blasphemer!

(Same thing applies here, but probably more so in terms "I probably shouldn't be allowed...")

I've probably never seen the theatrical release version of either, so when you get the TBS edits it may blur the overall story/comedy. Generally speaking, though, I don't enjoy either one and Belushi also never did it for me. The samurai is the only character I like much of his.

I've always loved it (to adapt a line from the movie).

Animal House came out when I was a freshman in college, so I was pretty much its target market. At the time I thought it was the funniest movie ever made. But times and attitudes change, and it hasn’t held up all that well over the years (although it still has great moments).

Even though I liked the Blues Brothers’ music and general vibe, from the very beginning I thought the movie was a bloated, unfocused, overlong collage of too many episodes that didn’t fit together. The exact same could be also said for the much-hyped-at-the-time, but now largely forgotten movie, 1941 which also featured Belushi and Aykroyd, and was directed by Steven Spielberg.

Me, too, but growing up in Chicago and being a teenager when it came out, I am obviously biased.

But damn, something about Carrie Fisher's look in a few of her scenes - it's still the definition of "pretty" to me.

Right? Isn't the dream to be moderately successful with minimal effort?

It's been over 25 years since I've seen/heard Dick Vitale, and it took 10 seconds for all of the irritation to return. I never understood how that guy kept a job, made games unwatchable. He is what would happen if Chris Berman called a game on a meth bender.

So I can still see the embedded tweet above*, but if I click on it from a device where I'm not logged into Twitter it now wants a sign-in before being able to see anything else. Which I guess almost makes some sense compared to some other changes they've made, but still sort of a pain since I swamp from work but don't log into Twitter.

*for now, at least

I see embedded tweets here, but if I try to go to a specific twitter person's page, it jumps to the home screen and tells me to log in.

Is anyone else getting the "rate limit exceeded" error? Google says it has to do with API hits but I'm just using the regular Twitter app.

NM: Seems to be a widespread thing.

And me blocking a bunch of ads.

Man, who would've thought firing a huge percentage of engineers and not replacing them adequately would result in tech issues?
