FWIW, I saw a report that Gmail was down this morning.

My iphone didnt recognize my gmail username this morning, so I went into my settings and re-entered all my account info and everything worked just fine afterwards.

Mine either and settings did nothing, but a simple reboot fixed it.

That's one, yes. (fwiw, i just turned "conversation mode" off, and it already seems better.)

I've also got several threaded e-mails showing up in drafts. How they got there is beyond me.

also, my favorite was when I forwarded a bunch of e-mails from one gmail acct to another, and then "lost" them because the original e-mails were deleted. what the fuck is that all about? Luckily, i had also forwarded them to a non-gmail account, so I still have the copies. But seriously, gmail, if I wanted them mirrored, why would I have forwarded them????

Hmm... maybe tonight I'll fix myself a bowl of ice cream, salt it up, and pour a shot of Knob Creek over top.

Not.

I'll take your word for it, Rass, but that doesn't sound like a good gelato flavor to me.

I had some bourbon-flavored ice cream a few months ago. About as close to a relapse as I have been for about a decade. (I had bought it at the store not noticing the label; opened it at home, smelled the boozy smell. Stopped, contemplated for a minute, then said, 'fuck it'.)

It was delicious. Haven't had any since, though. Back to the straight and narrow. Thank you for letting me share.

My uncle said that the moment he realized he had finally kicked alcohol was when he went to eat a slice of derby pie and the bourbon smell made him sick immediately.

18 years, I ain't there yet. I'm not fighting it every day; maybe only a couple of times a year, and it isn't even a fight. Just,
'man, it sure would be nice'. Kate Upton asking me to blow her sure would be nice too; ain't gonna happen, so why sweat it?

And I can (and do) sublimate all such frustrations into ice cream anyway. Second prize is nice too.

The smell of cigarette smoke makes my mouth water to this day. Going on 15 + years without a Marlboro Red.

My dad used to pour Drambuie over ice cream. I have no idea what Drambuie is.

2+ days in Dublin just because why not

7 days in Scotland - 2+ in Edinburgh then hired a car for 5 days. General route was up the A9 through the country, stopping at Pitlochry for tour of Edradour (Scotland's smallest distillery) to buy a bottle, dinner. Inverness. Muir of Ord for a tour of Glen Ord to buy a bottle. Down LochNess, castle Urqharhararqahrar (approximate spelling), threw Nessie a fish, then over to Isle of Skye for 2 days. If someone were to tell me that was the most beautiful place on earth i wouldn't argue with them. Stopped at Talisker distillery for a tasting, bought a bottle (sensing a theme here?). 2 walks/hikes on Skye that were beyond breathtaking (Storr - Neist point). last day drove down the coast through Oban etc, back to Edinburgh.

not enough time, 20 years wouldn't be enough. I would move there tomorrow.

If I were still in Tucson, I just might have been running in it. Considering Coachella was last weekend and this weekend, I could've been on leave in SoCal these last 10 or so days had I not been here in Korea.

Awesome. We did something very similar in October, though no Dublin. But we drove more directly from Edinburgh to Skye. We went through Stirling, and then the little roads with a B and three digits (fucking scary to drive), through Crianlarich and Ft William to Mallaig, then the ferry from Mallaig to Skye.

I never saw so many rainbows in my life.

we got to Dunvegan and it was 15 minutes from closing so we had a coffee in the shop where one of the 17million absurdly friendly people chatted us up and told us that the Neist point drive would be worth it - which it was.

The clan name on the castle did not escape me.

Nah, that shit amuses me more than it bothers me. There was a point where it was the latter, but a light switch turned on at some point and I started to relize that there's no sense in worrying about it.

I just watched and and I was actually on a lot more than I thought I was. FAMOUS.
