I was at a food festival in the city last night and they had a tank there on display. The kids would go up into the tank, the guys would ask about the military and the girls would take pictures with the hot guys in uniform.
I'm just now seeing this. The answer to this is no, unfortunately.

If anything Air Force would be on display (like at an Air Show), it would be a fighter jet and the pilot would get his ego stroked all day.

I'd be working the Air Show and losing my mind.

The Macintosh "1984" ad with the sledgehammer woman only aired twice in the US - the famous time after halftime of Super Bowl XVIII and, to be eligible for that year's Clio awards, the previous December right before a 1AM network signoff in Twin Falls, ID

I knew about the former, but not the latter. (i.e. I had thought it only aired once)

Also, Cover of the Rolling Stone. And a bunch of other songs with offbeat lyrics.

Vladimir Putin's name is transliterated into French as "Poutine," which I had to quintuple-check to make sure wasn't a joke.

If everyone played as many seasons in the NBA as Vince Carter...

John Havlicek would have played with Michael Jordan

Kareem would have played with Shaq

Kevin McHale would have played with LeBron

Nolan Ryan had more complete games in 1974 alone (26) than every active major league pitcher has in their career except for Bartolo Colon (38). (Justin Verlander has the same number (26) for his career).

(Also, I'm not sure why BR has him as "active" frankly, so really it's everyone.)

I was on a call last week with a guy from another company and he was one of those people who just mispronounce a lot of words. The one that really got me was when he said "yeah, it's like potato, puhtahtah". He said the second "potato" in a way that essentially rhymes with fritata. I almost laughed out loud.

It’s one example of how much baseball has changed. As recently in the 1950s, I’d guess most winning pitchers threw complete games. (I don’t know how to prove this.)

ETA: Catfish Hunter threw 30 complete games in the 1975 season, alone

The first time I had that happen to me in Texas I thought I was going crazy for about 30 seconds.

Guy I'm working with whom I had just met: "Hey, you want a Coke?"

Me: "Sure."

GIWW: "Well, what kind?"

Me: "What?"

GIWW: "You know. Pepsi coke, Dr. Pepper coke, Coke coke?"

Me (Dignan voice): "OK, man. Whatever."

I just absolutely destroyed a Chipotle burrito. It tasted so good. Missing fast food. We've been almost exclusively been eating home-prepared meals the last two months.

Sitting here trying to remember the last time we had takeout/delivery... I think it was when my son had friends over for Friday the 13th movie watching in March.

The college kids in my house get something delivered every third day or so. We limit that mainly for budgetary reasons.

We've had full takeout dinners twice. Chinese once and from a local place for wings and sliders.

Gonna get tex-mex from my wife's favorite place for her birthday next week. Really looking forward to that.

Oh, wait, we also got a big order from Chik Filet the other day. That was awesome.

We're placing carryout orders with local restaurants about once a week just to try to help them out. One restaurant in particular is doing very well with carryout but another is really struggling.

We've been doing carryout on weekends and ordering enough for leftovers for 2-3 more meals. In addition we've been picking recipes out of Bon. Ape. Tit. to make twice a week. Really been enjoying cooking with and for the wife. She has the winning dish so far (and vegetarian to boot), but I think I can refine my Japanese fish a bit more.
