Evander Kane is a good player with a good personality but not good enough. Subban is the choice.

He was a nice, classy guy for sure but I saw him in enough commercials here to see his personality.

and now people are calling me soft for not hitting him back and saying im a bitch for going to the cops because "you went up there and knew he wanted to hit you so you cant claim assault if you went voluntarily"....like either im insane or people are telling me its legal to hit me in the face because they think im a jerk. i dont get it

Texas is a weird place, but I doubt the criminal code allows for punching people if the victim knew they might get punched by being there. Then again, Florida's "Stand your ground" law exists, so I could be wrong.

i spoke to a detective Monday and they have an incident report now. they said they will investigate my claims but it could take a couple weeks. in the meantime the Houston poker community is ripping me to shreds on Facebook calling me a pussy for A) not hitting him back and B) calling the cops.
the thing is, he pressed charges on a guy for a fight give years ago and i know he would have done it to me. seco nd I'm 135 pounds...bad as i wanted to hurt him i probably could not have. C) I have to work in this industry...even though he called the woman i love a n***** i would still be the poker dealer that punched a player. my career is over.
as to the whole "you baited him, you are a snitch" thing....okay I'm a snitch and a pussy and not a man but the woman i love forbid me from swinging first and i want him to pay for what he said so im.gonna press charges. honest opinions guys...is the way im handling this make me less of a man?

Won't you now be that guy who baited a player to punch him? I'm not saying I disagree with your steps at all, but a) continually baiting the player on social media and b) going to a poker room for a confrontation doesn't sound like someone who's worried about how their job would react.
I would probably do the same in your situation. I respect the restraint, even if it was partly in the name of self-preservation. I got pissed off for a buddy whose wife was yelled at by a coach during a soccer game and there were no slurs involved, so I can't imagine how I would react if it was my woman.

I read a couple of the comments, and the guys calling you a snitch and a pussy don't seem like the kind of guys you want to take life advice from. Good chance you would have gotten arrested or he would have pressed charges. I'm not judging your handling of any of this, but I will say that by posting on FB the police officer's card, you were asking for those assholes to come down on you. Handle your shot however you feel, but no need to put it on blast on FB. I totally understand your anger and frustration that this guy is a customer at your workplace, but the constant FB rants are going to catch up with you and have negative consequences at some point, and harboring the anger is only hurting you. By all means, hate the guy, but no need to keep it front and center in your mind. You know he is an asshole, leave it at that.

And while it may have been opened to a particularly racist passage, when a book entitled “Gen. Robert Edward Lee: Soldier, Citizen, and Christian Patriot” is displayed prominently in a glass case in the congressman's office, does it really matter which page is on display?

This story seemed a bit fishy from the start, but the Chicago police had better be sure that he was involved in the planning of this.
To point out the obvious - if this is true, than his name is going to become part of the lexicon for all sorts of bad reasons.

a bit. Its not anti Islam, because that woman knows fuckall about the religion. Its a fear of the brown people that practice it, which is racism to me.
