Thru 11 in Atlanta. First postseason game ever without a run through 11.

The pitching from the Reds and Braves has been absolute filth. Now heading to 12th still 0-0.

That's surprising, would have expected it to happen once or twice in the Bob Gibson days. Of course there were only 4-7 playoff games a year.

Yankees (probably?) wouldn't pay huge for two 30+ righty starters either way, but definitely not given that Cole and Bauer hate each other dating back to college.

So after taking your starter out in Game 1 after 3 shoutout innings, the next day your ace starter gives up 7 runs and can't get out of the 2nd.

Idiot.

I assume you were being sarcastic. Because, if it was up to the league it would be New York versus Los Angeles every year in the World Series. TV Ratings!

Oh, for sure on the MLB level, but I’m pretty sure the home team and their grounds crew have a massive amount of input. (Although I wouldn’t for a second blame Cleveland if this was their intent/hope all along.)

Modern baseball watching: I took a nap in the 6th inning (intentionally, not dozing off) so that I could be awake for extra innings. I was only slightly off, as it was the top of the 9th when I woke up.

Last night he harped on Sanchez not getting off his knee when handling Chapman because a pitch riding down-and-in to a righty could skip past him and a few minutes later that exact scenario played out on what should have been the final out of the game.

ARod is killing me.

his name-dropping seems completely over the top in terms of pandering, seemingly to the old-school crowd. The only times i nod at things he'll say will revolve around actual play; e.g. giving ideas on various pitches or game situations that make sense to come from an ex-player. But holyfuck stop knobbing Pete Rose already, in fact...it's best you don't mention him at all.

Yesterday his petulance at the lack of bunting led him to come back to it minutes later and said "Hank Aaron. He laid down 21 sacrifice bunts in his career! if it was good enough for him it should be good enough for modern players"

I immediately yelled out (to nobody, to be fair) "OVER 21 YEARS DO THE MATH YOU IDIOT!" (n.b. to me - Aaron played 23 years. so...yeah). And second....who the fuck was responsible asking HENRY GODDAMN AARON to lay down a bunt in the first place??

I've actually defended this ass-clown (in terms of him as a player) for years but i've gone from whatever to near hatred in two days.

First team shut out in a playoff series, first team to score the minimum amount of runs needed to win a playoff series and I’m sure a lot of other firsts on the line here.

No wild card team has ever won a 1-0 game, so it would at least tie an MLB record for fewest runs to advance even if you include the wildcard.
