Gunpowder wrote: Sat Sep 26, 2020 2:20 pm The Lions rule is there for a reason but I may have to ignore it this week (and it's basically just a fun anecdotal rule while the others are actually geared towards winning a league). Arizona should beat the absolute shit out of the Lions...they've faced two of the top 5 defenses so far this year. The Lions meanwhile are 29th and getting absolutely roasted. They somehow face the 2nd fewest plays per drive of any defense yet allow scores on 50% of them.

(I say somehow but the reason is "Mitch Trubisky").

It's a complete statistical mismatch - Cardinals have been better (statistically) than I think people realize and the Lions have somehow actually been worse. I don't think ATL over CHI is a bad pick either. Gotta think about this. Justin Herbert is a meltdown waiting to happen.
I also think that Matt Patricia is too stubborn to stop playing so much man in pass coverage and those guys playing man will definitely not win much against Hopkins and Fitzgerald. I also think their man schemes will open things up for Murray to have a couple long scrambles, as he pretty routinely breaks containment of the pass rush.

Wentz is looking very Petermanesque so far this year.

Bills looking good. Probably hosting a playoff game for the first time since 1993, in the one year where people can't actually attend, is so Bills.

Not sure if it’s the turf or being mostly indoors or the lighting or the mostly black and white unis or a combo but games in Atlanta look so washed out. Thought the same week one against Seattle.

Only problem is that’s called so inconsistently especially at end of the game. But think it was PI.

Yeah, ATL's turf looks awful on TV. It looks like it's really old, which it obviously isn't.

So Denver is wearing orange and Tampa Bay is wearing pewter/dark gray. Neither team with white unis. Don’t see that too often.

Dude - I am hoarse.

They got a cheap call (no matter what that sycophant Perrera says), but the fact that Josh Allen is good and is a potential monster is more than my pessimist's brain can handle.

And I'm no Eagles fan, but waving a white flag in OT, with 20 seconds left against the Bengals when the team is 0-2 is mind boggling. The guy on the RedZone said that the Eagles are lucky there weren't fans in the stadium. They would have gone berserk.

The only thing that could save Dan Quinn's job is if Arthur Blank is at synagogue all day tomorrow and is too hungry to fire him.

What a disgrace.

The Browns are over .500 for the first time since December 14, 2014, when Johnny Manziel made his first NFL start. They were killed by the Bengals 30-0 that day. Mulligan and I were in attendance that day but left early in the third quarter.

We mock the Eagles for taking the tie but at the end for the year 6-9-1 might win this division. When you tie and the other three teams lose, that's a good week.

It's not really the playing for a tie that was a problem. It was the playing for a 57-yard winning field goal, and then realizing that they had to play for a tie when that failed.

He's too short to play QB in the NFL. He was also a 2-star coming out of high school.

Iirc, he was downgraded because of his height.

To Pete Carroll’s credit, he immediately recognized what he had and started him over his big free agent signing - Matt Flynn!

And they knew he was a fucking weirdo.

Didn’t he catch some flak for his grad transfer thing before that was a thing that happened all the time?

Safely through on Steelers and Colts. Glad to avoid the terror that is the Lions/Cards game for survivor as it turns out. Thanks for the advice on that to brian and SL.

Also, Joe Burrow is already a very very good QB. If they don't get him killed this year, the Bengals will be relevant starting next year. Haven't seen such a young QB make as many good decisions as he does through three games - and under unreal pressure from a sieve of a line.
