We can debate if 1-2 is french-sourdough or sourdough-french, but I can't see anything else at the top.

Don't keep it at home. Will enjoy it dining out.

There are few things better then a hot homemade loaf, fresh from the oven, slathered in butter.

Damn right I make bread from scratch. (Usually just honey whole wheat.)

I've noticed a lot of lame sourdough breads around here lately.

But a good sourdough is heavenly.

French bread is alright, but I have to put in a vote for pumpernickel and also for rye with caraway seeds.

We could probably do a whole other thread on High Variance Foods. Sourdough for sure is up there.

I accept both of these as strong tier 2 unless the pumpernickel has golden raisins in it.

We've been buying a loaf of a local baker's light rye with caraway seeds in it every week for a month at the farmer's market. Delicious and perfect for cold cut sammys.

Who would bake such an atrocity?

I also hate diarrhea

There's nothing that warrants golden raisins. Nothing.
