Also, SNL has been waiting four years for this night and there’s no fucking way they can beat Four Seasons Total Landscaping. Just none.

I still can’t wrap my head around how The Four Seasons thing happened. And that they went through with it.

Because the media is the media we didn’t see a lot of him, but his Gettysburg speech was pretty damn good too. Not just because he won because it’s easy to Monday Morning QB but Biden might have been the right person all along. The election results prove Trump wasn’t a flawed candidate, they prove it was going to take an amazing turnout to beat Trump.
What? You are giving Trump credit for something? GOP is a well run machine, that's where the vote comes out at local levels. The Trumpist fanatics are really few in number.

So the Trump campaign has a toll-free phone line to report [alleged] “voting fraud”. The tik-tok generation may be getting their revenge for his attacks on their favorite app, as the line is apparently being flooded by prank calls. Pretty good thread. There are other twitter threads with other examples, too.

Right around 11:30a EST yesterday, when the Trump campaign became aware that NBC and possibly other outlets were about to call PA, they decided to hold a press conference.

Some sleep- / brain cell-deprived staffer Googled "Four Seasons + Philadelphia" and possibly due to incredibly savvy use of Google Analytics, a business other than the Four Seasons Hotel popped up.

So, they're sitting outside of Four Seasons Total Landscaping, and instead of realizing what a colossal fuck up it is and coming up with a Plan B, they just hold at this out of the way, not meant for a press conference location.

It's just that simple, and just that mind-boggling. Veep would've turned this down as a plot point due to the absurdity.

It wasn’t just an assumption because of his age. There were video clips circulating supposedly showing his cognitive decline, as well as anonymous reports that were supposedly from Dem insiders.

And they didn’t originate with the Trump campaign.

No, run of the mill civil servants (federal workers) aren't (typically) caught up in administration staffing changes.

We have a whole batch of Secretaries and Under Secretaries that are political appointees, and many, but not all of these will be swapped out.

So, as far as that dude on the street, he's very likely employed by someone that is a political appointee.

And, yes, many in DC will absolutely hold it against someone that made a choice to join the administration. They won't hold it against someone at the IRS or DOJ that was just doing their job to the best of their ability under shitty circumstances.

So, other than the political appointee assholes at the CDC, you can't bet all your dollars that the employees there are happier than just about anyone on the planet today. Maybe the folks at the Dept. of Ed are happier? Maybe...

What is really out of whack, though, is the fact that Trump basically tried to strangle a lot of these agencies by simply not appointing people.

So, I'm sure that 4000 is accurate as a general number, the impact of Biden coming in is that these positions now being staffed is going to have a multiplier effect across the board.

My guess is that Trump put out the tweet about the press conference at the 'Four Seasons' without checking with anyone, and when staffers called the hotel they were told either a) everything was booked, or b) couldn't do it on short notice. So then they scrambled for something else named 'Four Seasons'

Its so freaking absurd...and hilarious.

After Trump became president getting a passport for people who needed it for a deployment or otherwise simply couldn't.

Everyone would be up the base passport rep's ass, but the reality was the State Dept couldn't process anything because of a severe lack of manning.

Naturally no one would or could call out the bullshit.

We just watched Jake Tapper’s interview of Mitt Romney.

It was an important reminder of how much of a weaselly, worthless piece of shit Romney is. Even now he’s talking about how the ACA should’ve been repealed and replaced. And how any tax on “enterprise” would destroy our economy.

God the Dems need to somehow win these GA Senate seats.

This is the GOP. I laugh when Democrats suddenly wrap their arms around Romney and Kasich and Bush. I mean didn't Romney confirm ACB in a nanosecond?

Romney and Kasich will make 2024 runs.
