I heard a celebrity (maybe Chelsea Handler?) telling a story about being invited to a party and sitting next to Woody and Soon Yi and completely forgetting and asking them how they met. If she had realized and asked anyways, that would have been the best joke ever. If I was at the table, I would have lost it.

I’m curious: what athlete’s image has been whitewashed more successfully than Kobe Bryant’s? Michael Vick comes to mind, but to me, Vick earned it by going to prison. Who else?

Also: in 2021, do you think Bryant would’ve been given the same chance to rebrand his image and ultimately become the face of the NBA like this? There’s talk of actually rebranding the NBA logo in his likeness. ??

Sorry, I realized looking at this that there's no context if you don't have HBO.

There is a very detailed docuseries running right now on all of this. Hit me pretty hard while watching the second installment last night.

I realize a lot of folks love his movies, but, man... dude has major problems.

One thing I used to find humorous but now find disturbing is that in almost all of his films, a hot young women finds his much older character irresistible.

As a society, we seem pretty accepting of men beating up women. Actually, I guess add Dr. Dre to this.

Yup, they detail that pretty specifically in Ep 2 of this docuseries, specifically that Manhattan features a very young Muriel Hemmingway who is the sexual aggressor with Woody. Given what we now know about him now, it's really disturbing.

Some AP columnist recently wrote that Syracuse University should rename the Carrier Dome the "Jim Brown Dome". I always thought this as well but Ronan is way younger than I realized. Francis Albert would have been in his 70s when Ronan was conceived which obviously isn’t impossible but with Mia also stepping out on Woody with her ex (which also isn’t impossible) but who knows?

Mia Farrow said in an interview that he could be Sinatra's son, Ronan ducks the question, and Woody Allen said it's possible. I mean, the guy looks a lot like Frank, and I can't see Woody spawning such a good looking kid, no matter who the mother is.

He looks so much like Frank I'd actually just assumed that was the public accounting.

At this point I think he knows who's kid he is. And if not, why a DNA test hasn't been conducted at this point is beyond me.
