BSF, it sounds like you and the Mrs. have a healthy emotional take. We went through this too, and I was surprised to learn how common they are, as people just don't talk about it. When it happened, everyone came out telling us how it happened to them (including my parents). My wife took it really hard, but she got pregnant with my daughter within 3 months. To Mr. D's point, it's natures way of shutting down when things aren't perfect. Good luck and have fun trying!

Oh man, I missed this. I'm really sorry. I have nothing to add that others haven't said. The wife and I didn't go through this, but I know the fear of thinking it may have happened when there's some unexpected blood. And I had at least one sister-in-law go through it (during family holiday time so everybody knew, which must have really sucked). They later had two great (in their eyes :-) ) kids and probably never think about it again.

not much to add other than internet-friend support, BSF. My wife (and I, passively) went through this ... more than once. It's really tough, and we got through it using logic much as you spelled out. Doesn't invalidate or knock away the emotional impact so I learned it's ok to feel both of those.

And 4 days after my 39th birthday, I got mine today. Zero children for this guy. To be quite honest, I wanted this done when I was 25, but the AF said no. Now that I'm older, I was able to get it done.

I actually got quite anxious because duh. But if there wasn't such pressure the whole time on my junk I would've felt better.

I can't believe there are dudes that get off on having their nuts manhandled. I had to consciously breathe deeply so I didn't pass out.

Glad to here things are well vandwagon.
I was and am aware in the general sense, but assume any such circumstances would be relatively rare. My understanding of female contraception is that for most women, it actually has beneficial side effects like fewer periods or at minimum at least consistent periods. If it came down to a choice between getting snipped or wearing condoms, it's an absolute no-brainer.
