So, both the wife and I will be fully vaccinated by the first week in April. We are dying to grab our beach gear and get the heck out of dodge...
So... Any of you jokers got any tips on the US Virgin Islands? Best island to stay on? Venues to stay. We are told by a friend that St. Thomas is usually loaded up with cruise ships, but that's not a thing right now (if that skews your recommendations at all.)
Things to do? Places to eat? Best beaches.
Whatever you got, I'm all ears (eyeballs, I guess).

On a flight tomorrow morning. Fly into St. Thomas, ferry over to Cruz Bay on St. John. Pick up our rental Jeep and make it over the ridgeline to Coral Bay.
Beyond excited. 25th wedding anniversary, so the kids can suck it. (we're doing another week with them somewhere this summer.)

Looks like you won't be taking all the helpful suggestions.

Heh, only thing I got is that I worked with an attorney who served as a Federal Court Clerk in the USVI. Brilliant idea, that I was too dumb to think of. Clerking in a federal court is super prestigious and an amazing experience, but damned hard to get. Nobody thinks to apply to courts in US territories, so there is little competition, and you get to live for a year in the USVI! Had a friend in law school who did a two year stint as a clerk in the federal court in American Samoa. He had the most amazing experiences, and got to wear a grass skirt to work on Fridays. And how friggin cute is this building? The High Court!
Oh, have a great trip, NLFC, sorry I got nothing useful.

Well, for future reference, if anyone has questions about St. John, I got a pretty decent run of the place.
HIGHLY recommend this place if you like snorkeling, beautiful beaches and solid eateries. Cruise ships haven't started landing yet, so I was spared that dynamic, but we stayed on the east end of the island which doesn't get cruise traffic, so...
Incredible trip, would absolutely head down there again.
