Just a series of steps showing why you can't take half-measures. I feel bad for the "minder" who had been assigned to him last week who just lost their job.

All about buzzer timing and Daily Doubles. That was a fun game.

Watching tonight’s game:

Her: That guy looks just like…

Me: John C. Reilly.

Her: No!

Me: The guy from Step Brothers?

Her: Yeah, that’s it!

And the kid from "Bad Santa"

And former Bills' center Eric Wood.

The current champ is on a heck of a run. She's like the fourth player this season (around 2 months so far) who have put runs of 6 or more.

She's also a reader/commenter over at The Defector (can't remember her username).

There was a story about her in the Washington Post yesterday:

Amy Schneider has made ‘Jeopardy!’ history — and helped the show find calm after chaos
Schneider, an engineering manager who lives in Oakland, Calif., is also the first transgender contestant in “Jeopardy!” history to make the Tournament of Champions, where the top players from each season compete. During an episode last week, she wore a transgender flag pin and explained on Twitter that she specifically wore it around Thanksgiving because she wanted to show support for the “disproportionately high number of trans people” who are estranged or cut off from their families.

She seems like a genuinely nice person. But she is an absolute killer in the Double and Final Jeopardy rounds

Michael Davies (from Men in Blazers) about being the executive producer on Jeopardy.

A NOTE FROM JEOPARDY! EP MICHAEL DAVIES
Running “Jeopardy!” makes you think a lot about time. Partly because you have none: it is less a television program than a universe. And partly because one is constantly mentally switching between JPT (“Jeopardy!” Production Time), where we’re currently making shows which air in February ’22, and JAT (“Jeopardy!” Air Time), where we’re now just three days into our first-ever Professors Tournament, which has briefly interrupted the staggering run of 13 consecutive games won by our reigning champion, #4 all time, Amy Schneider (more on her below). There is also JFT (“Jeopardy!” Future Time), which we spend more time thinking about than anything else. Where do we take this magical franchise from here? How do we modernize and make “Jeopardy!” more accessible to all of our potential fans and viewers while preserving everything that is and has been so perfect about the show throughout its storied history?

A legend.

This year's Tournament of Champions should be epic.

Maybe we should do some kind of pool?

Mattea Roach is killing it currently. 17 wins and nearly $400k so far.

It’s probably happened before, but all three contestants yesterday (4/26) were part of the LGBT community. Mattea is openly gay, and her two opponents, the dude with the pink hair and the woman who had a passing resemblance to Ariana DeBose, were referred to with the “they” pronoun. It genuinely makes me pleased to see people living their truth.

It really shows how far (intelligent) people have come in the last couple of decades.

“random website” wrote:A contestant on Monday night's episode of Jeopardy! had an answer that was so wrong it went viral on social media.

Mazin Omer selected the $400 question in the category "Knight After Knight" during the opening round. He was asked to identify which star was knighted in their birth name, Sir Maurice Mickelwhite.

This question should've been an easy one because Jeopardy! showed a picture of the star that Omer needed to identity. The right answer to this question was English actor Michael Caine.

In a stunning turn of events, Omer answered the question with: "Who is Mick Jagger?"

So the current champ. He's probably a perfectly fine gentleman, and he's localish to me so I'm following. But because of his deep set eyes and eyebrows, and his five-o'clock shadow, he has a total Resting Douche Face. Similar to Eric Hosmer.

The current champ is just a machine. I don’t know what it will take.

I hate the way the game is played now. They should start sticking the Daily Doubles on the $200 line just to get some semblance of a normal game again.

I’ll hang up and listen.

Yesterday's leader going into FJ, Emily, was an amazing watch. Lots of good faces and apparent troubles with her buzzer. Also, the current champ is pretty great.

I really wanted her to win.

Nothing against Toronto's own Ray LaLonde.

The last couple of years Alex was good, but it wasn't until Ken Jennings hit his stride that you realized how disengaged Trebek could be. Fully understandable, but yeah...
