Yes, but the real one isn't much better. Reminds me of James Corden pranking David Beckham:

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson noncommittal about vaccine, says he’s not worried about future issues
He has a way with words...“I’m not worried about it. Last year I came off COVID, I feel like we did pretty good. This year, I’m trying to do the same thing.”
“I want to inspire the kids, I want to inspire the community. But at the same time, things are going to come at you, people are going to feel however they want to feel about certain situations,” he said. “You just have to go however you want to go about it. We’re going to see.”

Just as a general statement, I find it very discouraging that so many athletes are anti-vaxxers.

Re: 2021 NFL Season Thread
Is there a right wing "shut up and play" campaign against athletes promoting Covid contraction or has that one slipped through?

The washrooms at that stadium are like an entryway to hell.
I can only imagine how many hundreds of masks will be fished out of those troughs each game day.

Not sure if that a joke or not. He made the play. Didn't look pretty. Still the guy is about 35. No fair judging his could be career on this comeback.

Re: 2021 NFL Season Thread
How are so many people defending that as normal?
No one is "judging his career" on that play, but yes it's hilarious when a guy spins himself onto the ground while blocking an overcommitted edge defender and then whirls around and spears his own OT.

Re: 2021 NFL Season Thread
Tim Tebow was great to watch in college. But the dude is so hardcore Christian that any criticism made of his football acumen was an attack on God. His game didn't translate to the professional level (like so, so many before him) and it showed. And it had nothing to do with his faith. (But get into an argument with a hardcore Christian that watched football and they'll say otherwise.)
But you add in the ESPN hype machine and it was all Tebow all the time to the point of parody. You just just get sick of seeing him on TV being mediocre. It was a recipe for an insta-polarization no matter what. But that's what made ESPN $$$.
This stint on the Jaguars is nothing more than trying to tap into that hype he had from before. And knowing his age and the transparent idiocy of this venture, it's fun to watch him do the job extremely shitty but see people defend him.

Good stuff, Johnnie. And, because teams want to tap into his hype machine, he’s gotten more shots than any other mediocre player ever has.

Magary's annual WYTS columns have been especially good this year, IMO, but when he turns his attention to his Vikings, he always seems to find some extra heat. I am laughing over this one in particular:
I’m so sick of Kirk Cousins I want a new brain injury. And yet, here he remains. When the pandemic hit, Kirk said, “If I die, I die” and then DIDN’T die. Fucking rude.
Re: 2021 NFL Season Thread
Being a white male certainly helped there too.

I doubt he has gotten any shots this year, actually.

I can't remember if I mentioned it here before, but has anyone noticed Cousins has the exact same face as Giada de Laurentiis?

Weird how there's no mention from the Jags that they cut him early in camp so that he has an opportunity to catch on with another team, as so often happens with veteran players who get released before the bigger cuts.

Likely won't be available for a couple months, but would like the number of Tebow jerseys sold.

Brian - what do you think a fake vaccination pass will go for in Vegas?
Oh are there going to be brawls in the lineups to get into the stadium.

Re: 2021 NFL Season Thread
Bears signed the 39-year-old Jason Peters to compete to start at tackle this week. Why? Because last week when their #4 tackle returned to participate in practice, he was the only one of their top five tackles who could practice.
But, wait, didn't they trade up to draft a tackle (Teven Jenkins) in the second round this year, who they touted as having a first round grade on, with the expectation that he would start at LT? Sure did. He's missed all of camp with a back injury that now requires surgery. Jenkins did have back problems previously, but this is a new injury. Good thing you don't need a healthy back to play offensive line in the NFL.
Didn't they also draft another tackle who was expected to compete for the RT spot? Yeppers. And he's been out for two weeks with a concussion.

That's really too bad, because I was excited to see Justin Fields sooner rather than later.
Oh, and fuck failson Mike Brown for not drafting that Sewell guy, so Joe Burrow can get ruined sooner.
