Champions League 2021-2022

Post by mister d »

A more conspiracy minded person might say "wow, Ronaldo to City and City in the same group as PSG in the same day". But not me. I'd say that's just "the luck of the draw".

A does as well, although Leipzig may not be ready for primetime. The Bundesliga played a real game of managerial musical chairs this offseason.

But they have Brendan Aaronson, so they are always a threat.

Don't be surprised if Lille don't make it out of Group G. They won Ligue 1 last year, and have lost a bunch in the offseason.

Jesse M probably not so excited about this draw. But if he can get out of this group stage his stock will be way up.

Nice to see Dortmund and Ajax together since they’re linked in my brain as “even if I’ve never heard of this transfer target, if I hear he’s from Dortmund or Ajax I’m all in”.

Sounds like United are in for him as well. It also sounds like Juve aren't asking much for him. Can they send along Weston too? We desperately need DM help.

What a disaster of a window for City, to not have a striker for this season is pretty awful planning. Probably gonna make some panic buy now.

City returned a league winning + CL finalist roster but added Jack Grealish. That seems more good than bad.

They scored 10 more goals than any other team in the EPL last year. They should be fine.

I would kill for Camavinga or McKinnie back there. Slot either in ahead of McTominay and Matic and now you've got a team!

I suppose I'm happy he didn't go to City. I'm always happy about another skilled player in the lineup/on the bench. He's still Cristiano freakin Ronaldo while he's on the pitch, and hopefully he can fit into a role on this team. All that said, I enjoyed not having to root for him, especially given what may have happened in Vegas.

Sure that was last year. Everyone has improved.
Liverpool got their defenders back, Chelsea got Lukaku, United got Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane.

Yeah City will be able to keep beating on the Norwich's of the world without a striker, but against the top teams they will struggle. Grealish is great, but he is a luxury signing. Better to have kept the £100 million for Grealish and just bought Kane for the additional amount.

That was a stellar goal by Gueye but I feel like maybe it shouldn't count if everyone knows you couldn't hit that spot again with 10 chances.
