That really does suck. For all the big splashy roles, he was so good as a character actor. Moonrise Kingdom, for one, just fantastic.

I'm sure Chris Rock will have a good joke about this condition.

I was coming into this thread expecting to see some joke about it already being dead because of that buddy cop movie he did with Tracy Morgan (Kevin Smith's stories on this are pretty interesting) or his often made fun of music career. Which have all been well treaded on during the Comedy Central roast (and Ed Norton's performance on that was great).

Reading stories about his condition, it sounds like some agents/producers took advantage of it to get him in some pretty shady b-grade movies over the last few years.

I can see the movie poster in my head but I can't remember the name. Isn't he wearing a fedora, facing left shooting a gun in each hand?

That’s it! Actually that was probably the last date I had with anyone before I met my wife.

Hell no, I'm liable to get slapped making a joke like that! Your reading of my joke is much funnier than the intended joke, so I'll take it.

This is rough. I loved watching this guy in his heyday. Anyone ever done “wry smile” better?

No. He was fantastic in Moonlighting, (and a bunch of other things), but Moonlighting feels like a whole different thing. I don't know how to explain it, and maybe it's different now, but the relationship between him and Cybill just ooooozed chemistry.

This is my favorite tidbit about his career, that a (sports) movie fell apart and he got some of the biggest films of his career out of it.
