2022 NBA Playoffs
It's obviously very, very early, but I would very much like for the lasting point of this year's playoffs to be that even super-duper-stars need to be surrounded by quality teammates to be successful. Durant and Irving/Jokic on the bad side and the return of Klay and Curry on the good side, complemented by Jordan Poole.

We will see.
Lot of excitement here in Toronto, as well as a lot of "if only" regarding game 3.

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I looooooove that two consecutive losses was all Embiid needed to go passive-aggressive postgame about a teammate. That has never been an issue before.

I happened to see that play when scrolling on social media and audibly went "Holy shit" like I saw something like a car crash or knockout or something. Such an outstanding dunk.

I hadn't seen it until now - and even though I'd seen this picture I also did a "holy shit!"

I had to put down my fucking fork and swallow my food quickly so I could properly laugh at that. Jesus Christ, that's amazing.
And the photo is in the background too. Incredible.

I’m still laughing over “Malik Beasley was a good man. Well, given his legal issues, not sure we can say that. Malik Beasley was a man.”
Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I'm delighted that the NBA has given the only series that has been must-see-TV (Memphis/Minnesota) all of tomorrow night to itself, rather than putting it up against the draft. The rest of these series just need to get over with.
Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I feel like we don't talk enough about how amazing Giannis is.

I guess it’s time for me to get back on the Warriors’ bandwagon, before it gets over-filled!

Maybe the most detestable team to me right now. Fuck off Steve Kerr.

It's like he took the GOP class on master gaslighting.
But at least Draymond is authentic about being a dirty dickhead, which somehow absolves him per some in the media.

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I have no idea what you are talking about. Golden State's players have never been involved in anything questionable. Their outrage is well earned. Clearly.
Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
It's really all those eyes faults for seeking out Draymond's fingers tbh.

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I'm obviously disappointed that Jokic won MVP over Embiid (albeit Joker's argument is plenty sound), but at least it makes my prediction that there will be more white MVPs in the NBA than in the NFL this decade back to even.

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
Bullshit. His comments on the Memphis weatherman were truth. The Dillon Brooks one was probably (understandable) emotion getting the better of him after Brooks caused Payton’s broken elbow

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
Hey we don't fucking cuss in here dude. That's breaking a code.

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I still have no desire to listen to a fuckmuppet whine about a "code" when he's been coaching one of the dirtiest players this century. And many a player have been fouled just as hard as Payton, but with stronger elbows.

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I'm already tired of the debate. If Jokic played on either coast it wouldn't be questioned. It's clear that the Nuggets would be dead if they didn't have him while the Sixers would still be a decent playoff team without Embid.
I would like expensive whiskey.

"Many players have been hit in the face with pitches, but with stronger eye sockets."
Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
So if two pitchers in the same series intentionally hit batters with 99 mph fastballs to the face and only one gets hurt, only one pitcher should be pointed out as breaking a code by the other team's manager? Especially when that guy's pitcher has been beaning people intentionally for years?

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I think its more that this started from a point of you acting like Kerr was supposed to be objective and counterbalance Payton's injury with whatever Green has done in the past?

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I mean, sorta? Kerr has aided and abetted Green being the definition for dirty for half a decade. He, quite literally, doesn't get to be the coach to whine like a bitch about some sort of code. Fuck that noise. And fuck Kerr.

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
It was shitty that GP2 got injured. It was a bad play by Brooks. But no fucking way did Brooks intend to injure anyone. And yet Kerr with some mealy-mouthed working the NBA officials bullshit took this to another level. It's shitty.
Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
So Kerr is doing exactly what a coach is supposed to do, especially in the aftermath of a serious injury to one of his guys? I don't get the ire given him doing the opposite would be not doing his job.

Re: 2022 NBA Playoffs
I guess when you fucking employ Draymond Green you don't get to take the fucking high road. Fuck Steve Kerr.
