My wife and one of the kids will be away. The other kid shouldn’t need to work (need to be driven somewhere).

Any interest? Or just gonna be me and s/cerrano?

Pretty sure AB can’t make it.

I would love to expend some marriage currency on “meeting internet friends in Vegas” but we’re all so old someone might overdo it and die that trip.

We usually go away July 4th weekend. My son runs a 10k at Washington Crossing and said he wants to this year. Up for it almost any other weekend.

Searching flights. Is Newark the best airport? Or just find the best price and uber? I don't honestly know where you live other than it's in Jersey and not impossible far from the hellhole of Morristown.

EWR is definitely the most convenient. 10 minutes from me when traffic is reasonable.

Though we’ve flown from JFK in the past when the fare difference x4 made the inconvenience of driving out there worth it.

And I swear to god I’m taking on if you out of towners to Newark for a great fucking meal so you can protest the next time someone makes fun of our only partially blighted city.

Flights are surprisingly cheap right now from MIA at least.

I was flying in sat and out monday at my looksee. It wasn't bad and ceratinly worth it over driving.

Though I’ve grown to really like Portuguese chorizo I’ve always liked the Spanish version more, and Casa Vasca was always our favorite place in Newark. Haven’t been there in a long time. Pretty sure the last time I went all out in Newark we were at Fernandes Steak House, which is Brazilian. That was pretty great, too.

My favorite Portuguese place is actually in Elizabeth, called Valenca. We have a Portuguese place up the block from us and the apps and drinks and outdoor patio are great but the entrees are just ok, IMO.

Fernandez kicks ass and is the last time I actually had the balls to do Rodizio right before walking to a Red Bulls tilt. Everything stayed where it should have miraculously. Don’t sleep on Tony Da Caneca which is the go-to for my pork chop in-laws for their suckling pig.
