Well, when your kicker (Brandon Aubrey) and spot-started defense (Minnesota) puts in work, it kinda doesn't matter who my QB is.
This week I scored the most points in the league with James Cook, Rashee Rice, and Jayden Reed on my bench.
I'm #3 going into in the playoffs and play a #2 team that just lost Justin Herbert and Justin Jefferson -- with no decent replacement. And since the waiver priority goes in reverse order, I'll be able to get Browning or whoever out of strategy alone.

Out of my 5 competitive leagues, I finished 5th (0-5 to 8-6 and the 5th seed!), 1st, 1st, 1st, and missed the playoffs.

If we keep winning, we can potential play each other in the semis in the dynasty league, and in the final in the Bensell league.

Oh yeah! I hadn't seen the playoff schedule yet in that one.

Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
While I made lineup choices that cost me multiple wins over the course of the season, I'm just going to blame Kadarious Toney for wiping out a Mahomes TD pass that would have won my team the division and earned a bye... instead of finishing in a four-way tie for second... and coming in fifth due to tiebreakers.

In my money league, going to ride the Browning express in the first round.
(Trevor Lawrence and Sam Howell on the bench. Howell's garbage time numbers have pretty much disappeared)

Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
Ok, for QB do I go Stafford, Browning, or Lawrence? Leaning Stafford.
My 4 RBs are Ekeler, Kyren, Cook, and Walker III. I'm sitting Walker.
My 5 WRs are Reed, Olave, DeVonta, Rice, and Pittman Jr. Starting Pittman for sure, who's the other?
Kelce or Ferguson at TE?
So do I put an RB, WR, or TE as the Flex?
My spot started defense is Atlanta. And Aubrey is my kicker.
TIA.

Extremely TD heavy league...who do you bench out of DJ Moore, Sutton, Pittman, or Adams. Right now I have the first three in my lineup (no flex). It feels crazy, but I think that's the right call.

Sooooo...I should have spot started the Raiders defense.
They have 31 points as of right now. Nuts.
(Ekeler has under 6.)

Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
The Raiders are so fucking unpredictable! Getting shut out, then 4 days later posting 63 points? Crazy. Annoyed at myself for not thinking to pick up the Raiders D after seeing Herbert is out and Allen was sitting. Pretty content with the Dolphins playing the Jets, but last week the Jets offense looked decent in the second half. I don't expect Zach Wilson to look competent for two consecutive halves, so he is likely to regress back to the mean. Zach Wilson doesn't learn and turn corners.sancarlos wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 11:54 pmBad takes revisited

Had I not watched the game and woke up to the score, I would have been devastated before checking box score. But Adams only put up 10 in our league (very TD heavy) and the other guy started a 1-point player, so I'm still 68% chance to win.

Help!
In my money pool I have to choose between Trevor Lawrence and Sam Howell. Decided not to start Browning who had a decent day - just trying to avoid the fiasco I created in the Bensell league by benching Goff for Ridder.

Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
Also, in Bensell, looks like the top four seeds are all going to lose...
Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
Nope. But turned out not to matter as my opponent had Prescott.

Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
Yeah. I had the top seed, and I'm going to have by far, my lowest score of the season. Tough to have Tyreek Hill miss the game and Dak Prescott (and others) shit the bed at the same time.tennbengal wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:14 pm Also, in Bensell, looks like the top four seeds are all going to lose...
Luckily in my money league, (where I also have Tyreek), I have a bye into the second round of the playoffs.

Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
I’m in a similar boat as SanCarlos as I’m getting bounced in the Bensell league, but I have a bye in the league I care most about. In that league cut Stafford a few weeks ago so I picked him up for $1 as an emergency option, since my other backups were Mac Jones and Minshew. Am I happy I did that since my starter was Herbert.

If the current results hold, I will be guaranteed to be playing for money in all three of my main money leagues with up to $3700 in play.

Yeah, when I saw the early results I should’ve just put Hurts in and played for him being healthy and having a huge game.

Broke my league's single week scoring record...on a bye week! I'm so fucked.

Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
And just pick up the backup in case he doesn’t go, right?
Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
Yeah, I guess that would’ve made sense too.

Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
Ekeler sucks. (Kelce too.)
If I sat Ekeler and started Rice in my flex, I'd be up with a healthy lead going into next week. (My league has 2 weeks for playoffs) Luckily, I have next week to make up the 4.22 points I'm down, but we'll see.
Current score is 139.94 to 135.72. That garbage time Kyler TD pass is the difference right now. (Or even that fucking Kazee hit on Pittman Jr.)
James Cook and Kyren Williams are my favorite people today, btw. Just putting up ridiculous numbers.

If they had overturned that Ridley incompletion in the end zone, I wouldn’t be sweating needing one got dang fg tonight by Myers, but alas.

Fluked into the semis in my money pool and am faced with a choice between Browning, Flacco and Lawrence (who may not be playing)
My opponent has Lamar. And McCaffery. And Cook.
I'm screwed.

Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
Pretty much. I’d go Browning and find Jesus.
I’m torn in my flex between Nico Collins (if he plays) and DeAndre Hopkins. Collins won’t have Stroud, but Keenum looked ok last week. Hopkins won’t have Levis, but Tannehill can’t be a downgrade.

My opponent in one league benched Pickens for Collins. Yay! He also has Higgins. Opposite of yay!

My opponent has Pickens and Nacua benched because he's starting St. Brown and JJ. So...we'll see how this goes for me. Mixon got him 9 points.

Lamar Jackson or Brock Purdy this weekend?
Re: Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.
Purdy if it’s 6 pts for passing TDs; Lamar if it isn’t.
