Fantasy Football 2023 General Discussion, Advice, etc.

Post by L-Jam3 »

Dynasty League, keep up to 10. Dudes' values go up $2 every year. $300 bank, for 20 dudes, remaining bank becomes FAAB (along with the bid value of the dude you're cutting). Players on IR opens up that level of FAAB (a $35 player gets hurt, that an extra $35 available for FAAB).

Selling:

Herbert for $10 and Olave for $20 for:

Buying:

Jordan Love for $3 and Diggs for $20.

The draft is generally unkept dudes and rookies.

I think passing TDs are 4. I'm checking that now.

I've never done Dynasty, so really can't help you. But if anyone ever needs someone to join a Dynasty league, I'm interested.

I'll keep you posted, but I think my league is filled. If someone drops I'll put the word out to you.

That seems like a very low cost for Herbert under a $300 cap, unless I am missing something.

I checked. It's 6 pts for passing TDs.

The QB values are all over the map. Jalen Hurts His Balls would be $7, Mahomes (who I had until trading him last year for Godwin) would be $24, but the highest is...

Jared Goff for $42. So he's probably would be available for bidding.

My main strategy is to grab a rookie QB on the cheap and flip when they get too expensive, but DSafe has a point about Herbert, who's still dirt cheap. I'm focusing on getting Gibbs (would be way cheaper than Bijan) and Richardson (would be cheaper than the other two rookie QBs) at the draft.

Between the value (Herbert is listed by one site I trust as around $21-22 value under a $300 cap) and the change at offensive coordinator, I would suggest keeping Herbert. His $10 cost seems like too good a value to give away.

Yeah, I ended up passing on that trade. The extra $7 is worth the difference between a locked-in Tier 1 QB starter and a total mystery, even if I'm upgrading to Diggs.

Hey Giff, my dynasty could use one. You’ll be taking over a pretty good team, with a potential foundation of Lawrence, Najee, Keenan Allen, London, Amari, and Tyreek. And Cook if he gets signed.

The draft is locked in on 8/28 at 5 pm ET, and runs upwards of 4 hours as every unkept player needs to be auctioned off. We have remote capabilities. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll have my commish send you the details.

Business F. Horse projects Olave as WR5 and Diggs as WR6, and Herbert as QB7. Also note that Herbert and Olave have great weather/indoor games in the playoffs while Buffalo is back in the snow.

I've just been given the heads up that my wife signed up for fantasy football through her work and their draft is Saturday.

I'm having fun in Boston right now and don't get back to Tucson until Friday night.

I don't think my wife understands just how much prep and weekly agonizing goes into it.

1st place is like $250. Dead last place is run a beer mile.

What website should I use and what are your sleepers I should target? I can't go into this blind.

TIA.

This site aggregates opinions from numerous fantasy pundits. The rankings might help your wife draft.

For those stakes you probably don't want to use it, but I use the Ultimate Draft Kit from The Fantasy Footballers. You can customize tier-based rankings based off the league's scoring system, plus all kinds of other cool nerdy fantasy football stuff.

As long as you know who just got hurt or demoted, you’re probably fine just scripting positions by round and following some generic rankings from a person who has put in months of research.

What doesn’t work is having JLo draft for you and select every Packer, including the Defense.

You not only made the playoffs, you finished better than 8th in a 12-team league for the first time in eight seasons.

McCaffrey or Justin Jefferson at #1. Probably two WRs at #24 and 25.

I was able to, with the 6th draft position in a 10 team PPR league, get both Kelce & Ekeler. (Also got Rhamondre Stevenson too.)

Exactly how you might ask? Mahomes went 2nd, Russell Wilson (!!!!!) 7th, and Josh Allen 10th. Sometimes I forget that there are people that play fantasy sports who don't exactly study up and instead go full LeeRoy Jenkins.

Awful year to have the number one pick. I'd probably take Jefferson just because the position is much safer from injuries.

True, that is the best way to do it this year if you can. I just hate the thought of doing it with McCaffrey at 1.01.

I laugh that yahoo’s default player rankings put all the quarterbacks at the top of the list. Some guy’s gonna auto-draft and get some fine quarterbacks, but shit everywhere else.
