It's August my dudes so I guess it's time to start thinking about this. For the first time since 2020, we're back in business. This isn't yet a sign-up thread, but that's coming. Instead...TAKE A SURVEY!

If it helps you decide whether or not to play (and you should play - I'm guessing we'll need everyone we can get), you WON'T be asked to submit your own questions this year. That was more trouble for me than it was worth.

I think the current scoring system is sticking around but "if you're the only one with a 1-pointer, you actually lose a point" is awesome.

Wait, so like if you have 35 going into question 6, you're the only dude who has a 1-pointer, and then your score going into question 7 is now 34? That's a cool idea. Much love to whoever proposed that.

Yeah, "losing a point" is good which is a thing I had to remember when I read that.

I agree, I misread it too. I thought you were proposing getting a 1 pointer would hurt you. Extra bonus for a 1 is cool.

The "how do we pick teams" questions was basically a 4-way tie so I'm going to keep it completely random. I'll post something on that once we have all 32 players.

Haven't made a formal decision yet on the "minus-1 if you're the only one-pointer" scoring change yet. I was hoping to think of some stuff that would level the playing field a little bit and this probably isn't it, but it's a great idea and could lead to more drama so I'm leaning on voting yes. No other changes are on the table.

There was some interest in incorporating Zoom participation similar to 3 years ago. We'll see.

Friday reveals were the overwhelming winner so that stays the same.

I mentioned it before, but NO player-submitted questions this year. I've got everything I need. As new questions get harder and harder to find, expect at least 1 photo question and 1 "name something from this list" question each week.

I love the idea if only to see what team it ends up representing. It'll actually get at least one wrong pretty much every week unless it can read mp4 slideshows. Will use it if we can't get there.
