Was a Janet kid first but when she traded in the football nightshirt and cute hair for the turtlenecks and perm at the flower shop, Chrissy smoked her.

From what I know, her career more or less got started when George Lucas was drawn to her photo, and he decided to use her as ‘the blonde’ in American Graffiti, which spurred Johnny Carson to bring her on to read poetry on The Tonight Show, which caught the eye of the producers of Three’s Company. She got drummed out of the industry for having the audacity to demand as much money as John Ritter was making, so she did appearances in Vegas and sold products on infomercials. The thigh-master got her another gig on TV which sprung to more TV roles (the one where she was a sheriff or something like that, and Step by Step). I might be mistaken, but that thigh-master gig made her a fuckton of $.

I’d guess she inspired thousands of emails to brothers back in her Three’s Company heyday.

I won’t cosign that, but I’ll note she was very hot in Step by Step, which was in her forties.

Even as a kid, I never really liked her. I think I found her character on 3's Company too annoying. And she seemed pretty annoying in real life too, although I'm sure she was actually a sweetheart. I guess I was more of a Janet guy.

Yeah. Bailey / Janet / Mary Ann / Kelly Jackson over Jennifer / Crissy / Ginger / Farrah Fawcett.

It's interesting, because even at a very young age, I was more attracted to the "plain" girl on all these shows and knew the bombshell was supposed to be the hot one. I felt a slight shame in it, but being 8 or whatever, I didn't understand the feelings of attraction. It's so interesting that most of us were into the girl next door type over the glamourous character. Although I was way more into Aniston than Julia Louise Dreyfus and more into Jacqueline Smith than Kate Jackson and I don't know who Boof and Pamela are. And Teri Hatcher was above all on this list.

Agreed, but Aniston at any age beats peak JLD. Not a knock on JLD at all, big fan. And hearing her on podcasts recently raised her stock.

I agree with a lot of these, especially Bailey. Yum. But Janet wasn’t even attractive, except for obviously being “the smart one”. They usually made the plainer girls the smarter ones, and that is attractive in itself.

One of the things I always got a kick out of on Seinfeld, was that Jerry had a new girlfriend every episode, and every one of them was smoking hot.

If you are starring in your own show, why not? In retrospect, Jerry comes off as a little creepy. Like being a huge celebrity while dating and eventually marrying a high school girl.

Jo wanted Blair, so you know the sex would suck and be all awkward. Trust me, I've made out with a lesbian. And a mid-50s Mrs. Garrett looks pretty damn good to me looking it through the lens of my current age.
