They're obviously done without Herbert and certainly Allen. We're at the point in the season where fans of hopeless teams are indifferent anyway.

I really think the NFL should switch to a snake draft. It would prevent a lot of the tanking.

If a league really cared about tanking they’d just institute an even-odds lottery for all non-playoff teams. No rewards for being better at being bad.

Exactly. You have to disincentivize the benefit of losing to a severe enough degree that winning is the only focus for a team. Same goes for the NBA.

I really don’t think tanking in the NFL is much of a thing. There’s too many players whose careers are too short to effectively tank.

I don't know guys. The Steelers really have had so many chances to avoid unnecessary roughness penalties this year that they inevitably just commit anyway and it never gets fucking rectified, and this one looks particularly brutal (I also have Pittman on my fantasy team so even worse), but does anyone have any thoughts on what he was supposed to do here? The target seems clearly to be shoulder at ball. You just have the ex-factor of the receiver flying horizontally through the air. The penalty is completely fair, but for that to be an ejectable offense, doesn't intent matter? Like at what point after Pittman dives does he actually have time to switch to a different tactic?

Apologies, I mean the WR hits the DB's chest and while doing so the DB attempts to rip the ball free. The worse case scenario is the WR catches the ball, the best case scenario is an interception or incomplete pass. There is no way it leads to a penalty.

I don't think the NFL would let them do that (because Cleveland was allowed to keep all the history), but it would be great!
