I think this has been touched on before in the forum, when all of a sudden an actor goes through some sort of cycle and shows up across multiple unrelated ads. Or maybe ends up in a high profile role and all of sudden their old commercials get aired again. Not sure if anyone else cares but here’s a thread to note them as you see them.

The “it’s spaghetti night” mom from the Verizon overly dramatic dad commercial is also the mom(?) from the Hyundai weird arm reaching out of the phone to lock the doors and remote start the car from the stadium commercial.

Also, we finally started watching The Bear this week and I see you Pete.

I just watched … I don’t think the gap is wide enough that it can’t be explained by “he’s pretty tall”.

I just learned this subreddit exists because I watch TV so infrequently that I have no idea what commercials are on TV right now.

Who is the actor playing Uncle Abe in this Verizon ad? He is so familiar, just older.

I had in my head he’s a sitcom guy, neighbor or boss type dude. But I definitely recognized him, too.

Good lord, he has almost 300 credits on IMDB, and lots of things I’ve probably seen him in (1 episode of shows I’ve watched). Nothing I’d specifically remember him from. I’m currently rewatching Modern Family with my family, on season 8, ep2. He will appear in s8 ep5! Kind of bummed I ruined the surprise. Would have been exciting seeing him and realizing he was the guy I couldn’t place. Or it would have been doubly frustrating, because I’m sure Modern Family isn’t why I recognized him.

Saw the episode, and I never would have realized Robert Costanzo was in it. He played Jay’s nemesis Earl from Closets Closets Closets Closets. I was confused why he was credited with one episode when Earl is in at least 5. Turns out the original actor died. Robert Costanzo played Earl in a Halloween episode and wore a mask! I was expecting Costanzo would play Earl’s son when I saw the IMDB credit, as I knew Earl was played by a different actor.

Just saw that Rutgers Health commercial this AM and remembered her.

There is a porny-er version of that Raymour and Flanagan commercial where the delivery guys carry the neighbor around in a chair and when they place her and the chair on the ground she puts her hands out for high fives but she’s also crotch level and…

And as cute as Katie is no one likes lemon pepper tuna from a pouch that much, she should have dialed it back a bit.

Ok a couple of observations..

I guess Kai Cenat isn’t just a “commercial actor” (thanks to t-mobile for providing a caption to identify him in that one commercial even though my youngest recognized him one of the times she graced us with her presence while watching TV) but he’s in everything right now.

And there was a series of Verizon commercials in the last year or so about people with shitty phones being told they could trade them in (I think “spaghetti night” referenced in the first post was one) and one of them had a woman with a phone that was beat up and throwing off sparks and I could have sworn I both thought she was a Hallmark actress AND that I posted somewhere here about not being to confirm that but now she’s in the new State Farm commercial with the ghost, playing a not-Jake SF agent.
