Now I wish the niners got a TD and celebrated like they won.
It's the sixth version of The Swamp. What could possibly go wrong?

is 10 points in the first half really a huge lead?brian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:10 pm Like I said it didn’t impact the outcome but I think there’s an argument to be made that it’s indicative of a lack of planning and foresight on Shanahan’s part and that would concern me if I were a Niners fan. This guy has now blown 3 huge leads in Super Bowls - 2 as a head coach and of course the 28-3 game as an OC.
defense gets the opportunity to sub -- and more clock gets usedThe Sybian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 2:11 pmThat one bothered me. I've always wondered on a play like that where a WR goes out for a 50 yard pass, can they just run off the field and have a different player sub on so they don't have to run 50 yards back?DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 11:50 amWell, when he was urging KC to spike the ball to save time ("15 seconds") prior to the field goal at the end of the fourth quarter, about a second after he shut up, you could see Pacheco come into frame, running back across the field and line of scrimmage, then get set for the snap.
Huge is maybe overselling it but substantial. I don’t know the record of teams with 10-pt leads n the first half but it’s better than 0-for-3.Brontoburglar wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:16 pmis 10 points in the first half really a huge lead?brian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:10 pm Like I said it didn’t impact the outcome but I think there’s an argument to be made that it’s indicative of a lack of planning and foresight on Shanahan’s part and that would concern me if I were a Niners fan. No Sybian nailed it when he mentioned the disorienting nature of not knowing the rules can have a negative impact on your ability to win the game.
Thank you, that makes a lot of sense.Brontoburglar wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:17 pmdefense gets the opportunity to sub -- and more clock gets usedThe Sybian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 2:11 pmThat one bothered me. This really would have been amazing, and obviously a much bigger indictment, especially if the staff celebrated like they won.degenerasian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:15 pm Now I wish the niners got a TD and celebrated like they won.
HaulCitgo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 1:39 pm Not sure it offsets the percentages but defense is called differently trying to prevent all points on 3rd possession. Defense is first stop run and don't get beat deep. Not the priorities. Anything to get ahead of downs and get a stop. Probably punt to 4th possession inside own 40 if 4th and 4+
Should it be called "Doing a McNabb"?govmentchedda wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:33 amThis really would have been amazing, and obviously a much bigger indictment, especially if the staff celebrated like they won.degenerasian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:15 pm Now I wish the niners got a TD and celebrated like they won.
That's throwing up on the field during the game.Pruitt IV wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 4:30 pmShould it be called "Doing a McNabb"?govmentchedda wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:33 amThis really would have been amazing, and obviously a much bigger indictment, especially if the staff celebrated like they won.degenerasian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:15 pm Now I wish the niners got a TD and celebrated like they won.
Terrible that as good as he was, two things I remember about him is the puking in the Super Bowl and his not knowing that regular season OT games could end in a tie.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 10:33 amThat's throwing up on the field during the game.Pruitt IV wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 4:30 pmShould it be called "Doing a McNabb"?govmentchedda wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:33 amThis really would have been amazing, and obviously a much bigger indictment, especially if the staff celebrated like they won.degenerasian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:15 pm Now I wish the niners got a TD and celebrated like they won.
FWIW, he's also someone who you wouldn't want driving you back from the bar. To me, that's the most damning thing.Pruitt IV wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 12:02 pmTerrible that as good as he was, two things I remember about him is the puking in the Super Bowl and his not knowing that regular season OT games could end in a tie.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 10:33 amThat's throwing up on the field during the game.Pruitt IV wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 4:30 pmShould it be called "Doing a McNabb"?govmentchedda wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:33 amThis really would have been amazing, and obviously a much bigger indictment, especially if the staff celebrated like they won.degenerasian wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:15 pm Now I wish the niners got a TD and celebrated like they won.
