Taking a slew of draft bets, why not:

Indianapolis to draft a corner in first round (+110)

A bunch of $1 bets on early 2nd round teams to take Xaview Worthy - particularly like Atlanta +5000

Byron Murphy first defensive player drafted (+1100)

Chop Robinson first defensive player drafted (+10000)

Jags to take DL/edge in 1st round (+700)

Lions to take OL (+275)

Ravens to take corner (+550)

Bengals to take DL/Edge (+425)

Broncos to take Penix Jr (+550)

Raiders to take Jayden Daniels (+850)

Titans to take Brock Bowers (+1200)

Joe Alt 5th overall pick (+500)

Drake Maye 2nd overall pick (+110)

Yuck..and Im worried you're right.

Anyone looking for Patriots porn, Edelman is podcasting like crazy and has long interviews with Ty Law and Ernie Adams; much better for information compared to Kraft's dynasty bullshit thing. Don't all rush all at once.

He's not wrong about pharmaceutical companies being corrupt but it has nothing to do with not being able to question science. Question the science all you want...science embraces that. What he's really doing is questioning math and that's hard to say because it really makes you sound like a fucking idiot.

So, how does Aaron Rogers command a huddle or strengthen a locker room when talking so much shite?

Is professional sport so win/money focused that no one else calls him out or at least takes the piss out of him all the time.

Especially given that a team is just like any office in terms of there being a hierarchy where you can't really talk personal shit upwards even if you think someone is awful.

Yeah, I’m finding it isn’t too difficult to ignore him being a crackpot if he can win some games for my team. I’d wish he’d shut up, but whatever. It’d be different if he was making white power speeches or sexually assaulting women in bars.

Umm, Woody is the heir to the Johnson & Johnson company, so I don't think he is a big fan of vaccine conspiracy theory talk. While he did enough for Trump to get the Ambassador to the UK gig, I'm sure he donated a fortune for the tax cuts. I don't get the sense he is MAGA at all.

Ha! Okay, got me there! I mean I knew that but for some reason just didn't draw the connection. He's a Trumpy for the tax-cuts obviously but whether it's genuine or not, it's still indistinguishable from MAGA.
Johnson claimed the event, in which Trump vowed to keep billionaires’ taxes low, was “unbelievable,” and pointed out that the reported $50 million haul was about twice what President Joe Biden–accompanied by former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton– reaped through a Manhattan fundraiser last week.

The one hundred or so attendees, Johnson added, were “very appreciative of what Trump is giving up to do this, to save America.”

When asked what Trump told him and the other donors, Johnson didn’t relent on praise for the former president.

“I think it was one of the best speeches. You know, each one gets better and better,” Johnson said, rehashing some of the same points that appear in Trump’s campaign speeches. Trump will be “a lot better” in a second term, Johnson argued, “because he knows what he’s doing now.”

Johnson then described what he believed the former president’s character to be.

“He’s extremely compassionate, and people don’t know that. He’s extremely funny; I think people are starting to appreciate his sense of humor,” claimed the New York Jets owner, who gave a pro-Trump super PAC $1 million last April and has since been working to get other billionaires on the same page.

Points to both Jerloma and Pruitt for challenging the attempt to draw a distinction from MAGA and just in it for tax cuts for the billionaires.

And if we survive another 4 years of him with democracy still somewhat intact, those are the people who should be held accountable more than anyone. They already have their fucking oligarchy. They know what the next step is.

Fun fact...CV's nail in the coffin for his Pats fandom was Kraft's latest million dollar donation to Trump, which I suppose is admirable on some level but it does seem convenient that they're also bad at football now.

In fact, that could be a perfect, judgment-free way out for you, Syb. Did you hear we have Russell Wilson now? Unlimited, baby!!!

In a rugby or football (soccer) changing room in Europe, Aaron Rogers, best player on the team or not, he would be copping all kinds of shite/banter from fellow players and I wonder whether he doesn't get this in the US or it is simply water of a Duck's back and he isn't a huge ego kind of guy.

I bet most of the actual players on his team haven't seen most of the interviews and/or don't give a shit. Or potentially need to be his friend so he'll throw them the ball.

Also black people generally aren't exactly trusting of the government.

In Rodgers’ defense, doesn’t every top of the top athlete have a massive ego? It seems like it’s necessary to have to get to the highest level. Even dudes like Gretzky probably thought all his teammates were trash at times; he just had the self-awareness to keep it to himself.

Maybe in general, but I think that the inflated egos are more a result of having been so much better at the thing than everyone else prior to getting to the highest level. In terms of focus and desire, I think a fear of failure is a much greater motivator than unwavering confidence.

I will gave it a go to try find it, but there is a brilliant story about ex England footballer player Chris Waddle, joining the coaching staff at Hull(?) and simply giving up because the technical ability of the players was so poor comparatively to him on the training pitch, that he could not tolerate the gap in talent and left after a single training session.

This anecdote sums up Magic Johnson's very brief career as the Lakers' head coach, although it did last a little longer - 16 whole games.

From the stupid, conspiratorial shit I've heard other pro athletes say out loud, I suspect Rodgers has a lot of teammates who agree with him.
