Just had to announce keepers in my long-running league and for the first time since I was 24 years old, LeBron is not on my team. Drafted him with the 36th (!) pick. Right between Doug Christie and Mike Bibby.

Wow, that's crazy. Who did you keep this year?
If anyone needs an extra, I seem to be in search of a league.

We used to do 3 keepers, now only 2. Wemby and Ja.

Carmelo was taken in the first redraft round, LeBron in the 2nd, and D-Wade in the 8th

Rookie Ryan Dunn from Virginia hit 6 threes in a preseason game the other day. 6-11. He hit 7 threes all last season for UVA.

I find it fascinating when an A-10 player gets training camp run or makes an NBA team and either I've never heard of them or their stats mean nothing. Like intellectually I get how they can be misused or fit a niche or be an incredible role player which translates up, but its still crazy every time.

Is there a penalty for keeping, like a salary increase? And why let him go now—is there a rule that you also have to keep family members?

Great. Embiid and George are in midseason form already.

Isn't it more "3rd round of the playoffs form" for Embiid. You know ... because he's not playing!!!!!!!

I thought he meant he wouldn't play in back-to-back seasons any more.

You see, that's quality humor.

It's a couple days old, but this sounds like a guy who is letting his former employer pay out his remaining contract while he prioritizes his family and stays peripherally involved enough in his industry to eventually jump back in.
It makes me happy for him.

Up 30 with under 7:00 to play and 3 rotation players (including Towns) are still in.

Sorry, 4. Didn’t realize Bridges was still in too.

Clearly worried about a Pistons comeback.

I feel like it has to be borderline psychological. Like if you take a 30 point lead, not winning by 30 is a type of loss therefore he can’t risk just seeing the game out.

I not disagreeing with you bc I literally know nothing about the speculation but I would think that would be a really bad quality in a coach.

I’m not saying that Thibs’s usage patterns derailed a sure-fire Hall of Fame career for Derrick Rose, but I’m not not saying it either.

And lost to the Pistons which might be most egregious of all.

I dunno. That reporter bringing up his dead brother in an article about how he needs to “show up for work” is a pretty punchable offense IMO.

Yeah, this has been a pretty big deal for a few days there and it’s the rare time I’m going to side with Embiid.

Ironically when they do it’ll be owned by LeBron but this’ll have to do for now.

Wonder if Embiid will appeal his 3 game suspension as not being long enough.

2 teams in the East are over .500
The 2-win Wizards are in the last play-in spot

Strong agree though I think they should just have 32 All-Stars and 4 teams of 8. Might not be able to for contract/incentive reasons.

Really enjoying the Lakers not falling behind by double digits in the 1st quarter every game this season.

How would this four-team mini-tournament get players to play hard? I mean, aside from the "we're not losing to the Rising Stars team" effort. Are they just counting on Wemby's sense of pride to power that team to pull off the upset in their first game to play in the second?

Play to 40 win by 3. Switch sides for halftime when a team hits 20. That would be pretty entertaining.

The Malice at the Palace was 20 years ago today. Have to figure if that happened today they'd lead with the N-word on Fox News.
