...And that did not take long for our first touchdown of the 2013 season.
It's the sixth version of The Swamp. What could possibly go wrong?

I meant getting tired of hearing about him every play, but yeah that too.AB_skin_test wrote:Even cost him a few plays.brian wrote:Jadeveon Clowney fatigue is going to be a real thing this year I can tell.
Oh I'm watching. Always hopeful Millen will have a stroke on the air. So stupid of them to hype a true freshman. At least Clowney has a track record.AB_skin_test wrote:I know what tou meant. Dont tune in to ole miss game for simolar reasons

Keep in mind you're watching a college football game.Tom 1860 wrote:brian wrote:Jadeveon Clowney fatigue is going to be a real thing this year I can tell.
I watched a bit of this last night while waiting for the Titans Vikings game and feck me they were all over him like a rash!
First they circled him, tell you he is No.7, tell you how great he is and then they followed the play. Then they slow mo his part in that play. They did this all game, except they decided not to circle him live pre-snap all the time.
Don't get me wrong, he is a great athlete and maybe he deserves the hype, but I am old enough to have seen LT, Bruce Smith and Reggie play and until he plays a down on Sunday, he is just another guy.
I think that was kind of Tom's point. Over the years, there have been many dominant college d-linemen. Clowney's play in the bowl game last year was epic and he deserves accolades as a great college player. But, many of those did not prove to be dominant in the pros. Tom is saying he will reserve judgment on Clowney's purported greatness until he sees him at the next level. As example, old guys like howard and hdo may remember a guy named Hugh Green who was an absolute beast in college, but just another guy in the pros.Brontoburglar wrote:Keep in mind you're watching a college football game.Tom 1860 wrote:brian wrote:Jadeveon Clowney fatigue is going to be a real thing this year I can tell.

Actually, his play in the bowl game was mediocre. Taylor Lewan was handling him for most of the game. He had one big hit that was incredible and built upon his legend. Most every game he played last year was better than his bowl game.sancarlos wrote: I think that was kind of Tom's point. Over the years, there have been many dominant college d-linemen. While you're not going to find me saying the hype around Clowney isn't overblown, the dude is a freaking stud, as melted-weiner just said.sancarlos wrote:I think that was kind of Tom's point. ETA: I just checked wiki and found that Hugh Green did make two pro bowls in his eleven year career, so I suppose it is unfair for me to call him "just another guy", but in any case, he wasn't nearly the beast in the pros that he was in college.
Damn. The first few minutes are incredible.Gunpowder wrote:Yeah, that hit may have turned the casual observer onto him, but Clowney was a huge deal well before that play.
His highschool highlight tape looks like someone created a 7' tall 99 speed player in Madden.
Just to be clear, actually, I was referring to the one highlight reel play, when I said "his play". I didn't even see the game, and wasn't referring to his play over the course of the game.brian wrote:Actually, his play in the bowl game was mediocre. I waited all day for this game only to discover it's on Sunday.sancarlos wrote:I suppose you are all on pins and needles anticipating the really big game of the week, on Saturday... - Colorado State vs. Colorado! How big is it? It might be the best opportunity either of them have all season to win a game! Rocky Mountain High! (Go, Rams!)
Indeed. So was the Syracuse -v- Penn State game earlier today. As was the Vanderbilt -v- Ole Miss on opening night; wild and whacky, that one, with a great finish.Shrew wrote:Clemson Georgia is entertaining,
Hey look, another QB that the Longhorns didn't want! RG3 and Manziel would've been awful fits as well.brian wrote:This Jameis Winston kid for Florida State looks like the truth. 17-of-18 for 240 yards, 3 TDs passing and 1 TD rushing.

What a fucking disaster. And we deserved every bit of it.brian wrote:The list of schools to be ranked in the top 25 & lose to a FCS team is now:

Oregon State (E Washington)
