I’m a big fan of Meiomi. Big and jammy for a Pinot Noir. My wife is not a fan for the same reason - because it is bigger and heavier and more alcoholic than most pinots. (She says, “if I wanted a Zinfandel, I’d drink a Zinfandel, not a Pinot Noir that tastes like a Zin.”)

I was drinking a porter at a San Carlos microbrewery earlier today that sounds very similar. Nice. (Sybian and I were drinking at this same place 10 days ago.)

And, right now the wife and I are drinking a $9.99 Kirkland Cotes du Rhone that I got at Costco on a whim. Surprisingly drinkable!

10 days ago? Fuck, where has that time gone... I was thinking it was 3 days ago, but I shouldn't have followed up the 15-20% 120 Minute IPA with an 11.2% Backwoods Bastard. I haven't even finished my second beer, but fuck, that's a lot of alcohol, and my head is swimming.
