It's the sixth version of The Swamp. What could possibly go wrong?

I should get guests to do my work for me. Any takers?howard wrote:Cyanide and Happiness is having guests do the strip this week. Today, Perry Bible Fellowship is the guest.

Whoa.
He seems intelligent. Unfortunately, he can't come to the correct conclusions on many things... Never progressed at work because of diversity hires? Then he says his work was poor and fraught with errors. Couldn't talk to people and it "may" have been a mental disease? Doesn't read newspapers, but watches tv for news. He's a few rungs below John McAfee on the successful but crazy ladder, but he's gaining.Pruitt wrote:Whoa.
Think he's right on the line between eccentric and disturbed.

Randomly chose "B.C." and I see what you mean. Are they frustrated writers? People showing off their comedy skills? Why?
I guess that makes me part of the 'Cancel Culture'...but I'm ok with that.
Dilbert the comic...enjoyable...Scott Adams' blog.....head spinning view of the world.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 1:20 pm I just wrote a letter to the Seattle Times asking them to drop the Dilbert strip, on the grounds that Scott Adams is lying sack-of-shit Trump supporter (worded more diplomatically of course).
I've also sent a letter to the Comic syndicate that publishes the strip.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 1:20 pm I just wrote a letter to the Seattle Times asking them to drop the Dilbert strip, on the grounds that Scott Adams is lying sack-of-shit Trump supporter (worded more diplomatically of course).

Goddamn the replies were depressing. A long list of people saying that when an overwhelming majority of scientists agree, and a small minority disagree, always trust the small minority. Like climate change, where the majority are blinded by their allegiance to "science", which profits off of climate fear, while the minority, who happen to be paid by the fossil fuel industry, have no financial motivation to say there is no danger in climate change.Pruitt wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:55 pmDaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 11:56 amI've also sent a letter to the Comic syndicate that publishes the strip.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 1:20 pm I just wrote a letter to the Seattle Times asking them to drop the Dilbert strip, on the grounds that Scott Adams is lying sack-of-shit Trump supporter (worded more diplomatically of course).
I think the Conservative mind has a problem believing scientists can be motivated by seeking truth rather than money, so they assume the majority of scientists are swayed to fake findings to prove whatever point financially profits them. I'm not naive to believe that some aren't swayed by financial profits, but most aren't. I also know some are blinded by a confirmation bias or wanting their theory to prove "correct," but when evidence is overwhelming, sometimes (almost always) that's because it's truth.
I think its more that a lot of people are unaware of just how fucking stupid they are (then grifters jump in to leverage that stupidity for profit). The Sybian wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 10:22 amI think the Conservative mind has a problem believing scientists can be motivated by seeking truth rather than money, so they assume the majority of scientists are swayed to fake findings to prove whatever point financially profits them.
I have been around, and worked closely with scientists my entire life. No one becomes a scientist hoping to become wealthy. The Sybian wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 10:22 am I think the Conservative mind has a problem believing scientists can be motivated by seeking truth rather than money, so they assume the majority of scientists are swayed to fake findings to prove whatever point financially profits them.
