It's very rare for a play to happen in sports that I think is legitimate legal assault. That's clearly one right there. Those kids need to be charged. And both of them should be analyzed to see if they need professional help, because that's some fucked up behavior right there.

Since two guys jumped the official, it appears pre-meditated. One has to wonder if a coach was involved in planning the attack.

Agreed. There's no way the coach didn't have a part in this. A good friend of mine went hunting with an assistant of the other team and said the John Jay players started getting chippy as soon as Marble Falls took the lead. The JJ coaches apologized after the game, but the MF guys were wondering why they let it continue as long as they did.

I don't think you'd need coaches to coordinate that. Apparently two JJ players had been ejected just a few minutes earlier. Those guys could easily have set that up in the defensive huddle. I have a much easier time believing two pissed off, stupid high-school kids thought that was a good idea than a coach.
Rousey had been getting her ass kicked (punny) all night. Holm stayed away and landed jabs and hooks and got out before Rousey could grab hold.

The internet turned on Rousey with a quickness all of a sudden. I didn't realize it was on last night nor do I follow UFC close under any circumstance, but people were all over Rousey these last couple months. Not anymore.

I gotta say, that sport sickens me.
BUT - always nice to see a purely hyped "personality" go down in flames. Because of my feelings bout UFC, it was very irritating to see the way this woman was hyped up into something approaching mega-stardom.
It all totals up to show that Rousey is not only becoming a superstar in her own sport, but she's crossing pop cultural boundaries and beginning to compete with athletes in extremely visible sports like football and basketball as well.
Considering she shows viability to sponsors comparable to LeBron James and Danica Patrick, Rousey will likely only continue to add major endorsements over the next year as she begins appearing in several movies as well as her career in the UFC.
Sure thing Fox sports. Go invent a new celebrity.

Heh. She basically predicted how she'd lose on Jimmy Fallon a couple months ago:

Here's the finish of the Kimbo Slive vs. DADA fight last night.
As someone wrote on Twitter, Slice got the win via a Ric Flair flop.

Cyclocross is a growing brand of cycle racing (but goes back to the 1900s). Primarily raced in winter (i.e. offseason for road cycling). Huge in Belgium but in the US it is growing (they had a big races in Vegas and Kentucky last week). The type of racing is fun. A hybrid between a road and mountain bike race. Riders race on a course for a set period of time (i.e. do loops for 60 minutes). The courses are typically covered with mud, sand, stairs, and hurdles. So racers have to dismount and remount during the lap). If there is not snow, rain, mud, the race is considered a bit of a downer.
Fans typically view these as a beer festival with a bike race going on (Belgium).
