Nah, it was great. But it was so great that when I saw it was from 2014 I figured someone must have posted it.

(this thread hasn't aged well what with the deprecation of the media tags)

This is the opposite of KTFO, but hilarious and Bizarre. A machete (according to the article) wielding driver battles a pedestrian with a garbage can. Hilarity ensues.

I was flattened by a malamute in the dog park last week. Thankfully, I didn't see it coming so there was no time to tense up. Ton of bricks...

Why does MMA even allow those kinds of hits? I see that in a lot of these videos - dudes hitting guys after they're clearly already out.

Shit like that is why I can't see how this is a legit sport that happens in this day and age where we know what we do about head trauma.

I won't claim to know the ethics fighters hold in that situation, but the fight is not over until the ref swoops in. And there are dozens of instances where a guy gets knocked to the canvas and then goes on to clear his head and win the fight.

But, yeah, sure seems like beyond the referee officially stopping the fight, when you see a guy is clearly knocked out, no need to hammer in the face for good measure.

There has been a fair amount of discussion about the stoppage rules in MMA. It's really totally up to the ref and from what I can tell, there's no rule or guidance on exactly when to stop a fight.

I think part of it is when there is a sudden strike that knocks out a fighter, the fact that the referee is farther away from the attacking fighter simply means he has to try to cover more ground than the attacker to stop the fight. Ref has to be close enough to stop a fight on a moment's notice, yet out of harm's way.

The whole idea that it is legal (encouraged) to further pound a defenseless, ko'd opponent until the ref steps in seems barbaric.

No more barbaric than a standing 8 count when a fighter gets hit so hard he is briefly knocked out but the ref lets him stand up and resume getting pummeled. At least when a fighter in MMA is knocked out the fight gets stopped. Maybe an extra shot or two lands, but there won't be any more after that. Boxing lets you get knocked down 3 times in a round before they will stop a fight. So I could get knocked down twice/round and as long as I can get up and convince the ref I can defend myself, I can continue to take repeated head shots.

It's really the best example of why you don't throw a haymaker to start a fight.

So the guy in the white trunks had apparently been taunting the other fighter for a few rounds as he was way ahead on points.
