6 cups of black coffee.

Occasionally an egg on half an english muffin or a small bowl of cereal.

Goetta is a meat-and-grain sausage or mush of German inspiration that is popular in the greater Cincinnati area.
It's like scrapple, but replace the corn meal with steel cut oats.

And I've never seen goetta outside of Cincinnati. I went to some German butcher shops here in Cleveland and as soon as I said the word "goetta" they asked me when I moved from Cincinnati to Cleveland.

Rice and breakfast sausage this week.

I think I need to go back to steak and eggs, but keep the rice though.

Oatmeal with honey and dried blueberries. It's my standard workday breakfast. On my off days I almost always skip breakfast.

The crew had breakfast for dinner last night. Pumpkin waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs (scrambled and over easy), and melon. I love breakfast for dinner days.

Should have read this before hitting the Googles. The first thing in the "people also looked up" section is scrapple, so you know German inspired sausage mush is disgusting.

Okay so lunch thread caused me to post....been making Overnight Oats for the last week. Where have you been all my life. Way better than hot oatmeal. Super filing. Lots of variations. Inexpensive..

Leftover soda bread from a friend's St. Paddy's festivities yesterday, topped with Kerrygold Irish butter. Tomato and banana pepper omelet, all ingredients from my yard. Strawberries, fresh from Plant City, and coffee.

would it be cliche to say they "taste like chicken"?

That's so weird. Eggs taste like eggs in the same way peanut butter tastes like peanut butter. They're a foundation food.

when i was five my dad had a heart attack, and i remember being in the hospital when the doctor told him it was cause his cholesteral was bad because he ate too many eggs, so ive been irrationally terrified of them ever since. never eaten one scrambled, on a breakfast sandwich...nothing. i eat cakes and stuff with eggs in it, but i never tried one that was'nt mixed with something. its hard as shit to get some places to make you breakfast tacos withno eggs

I'm pretty sure you have higher at-risk behavior than eggs so just give it a go. Over easy on a hard roll if Houston has good hard rolls otherwise scrambled on a croissant, bacon either way.

i definitely do have worse things that i do, and i admit its irrational. i just literally cant fathom what it would taste like so i start to imagine it and it just...freaks me out. is eggphobia a thing? i feel like i could do it if i had a frame of reference for what to expect but i dont. im a remarkably finnicky eater anyway and it seems dumb to be grossed out by a food ive never even tried that millions of people eat literally every day, but here we are. i think i need therapy, and im pretty sure im broken.am i the only swamper with a food phobia for something common they have never eaten?

Porridge oaks with skimmed milk on a week day with a glass of orange juice.

Weekends usually means scrambled eggs or fried eggs on wholemeal toast with butter, a glass of orange juice and a coffee. I will try and work bacon into this if I get the opportunity, but usually forget to defrost it the night before.

In what was a huge oversight on my part, one that I think may see me owing myself reparations, I made avocado toast for the first time this morning. I toasted the bread in the skillet, then cut out the center and fried the egg in the toast. Gently forked avocado on top, black pepper and some of this.

Fuck that sounds delicious. I'm gonna go make it right now.

I made avocado toast this morning as well. One half of an avocado, moderately mashed on top of a piece of toast (white bread because I'm not buying a separate loaf just for this). Add a soft boiled (?) egg (6 minutes boiling, then immediately into ice water), white is moderately firm, but not too much, and the yolk is like a runny gelatin. Split the egg on top, sprinkle red pepper flakes.

I feel like I should like that but every time I've had it I can't get over the avocado and eggs being too similar of a texture.

I love bread, but I don't think I've eaten regular store bought white bread in 20 years.

Last day of spring break for my kids meant a big breakfast was called for. Orange cardamom Belgian waffles, bacon, assorted melon. It was a good morning.

I rarely eat breakfast. Will grab a biscuit now and then but usually just some juice is my breakfast.

Bowl of super-high fiber cereal every morning. Moves things right along.

Lately I've also been on a pineapple kick. I love me some freshly cut Gold Pineapple.

I failed to mention this in degen’s work from home study, but another advantage of working from home is having the time to make a more elaborate breakfast. So this morning, I made some breakfast tacos with thick-sliced bacon, baby kale, onion, fresh jalapeños, cheese and a bit of sour cream. Damn, they were tasty.

In theory, I agree. In execution, working from home usually means breakfast is 3 cups of coffee instead of 2.
