This is really freaking hard beyond the current one. The question is basically "What really good players debuted in years ending in 9?"

Right. I'm not even bothering with those because it would just be three pages of me naming guys I remember being old on the field at some point.

I would guess Omar Vizquel for the 80's.

Rickey Henderson for the 70's

Henderson is correct for the 1970's. Vizquel is correct for the 1980's. Beltre is correct for the 1990's.
For McCarver: Yes for the 1950's. Technically there were two guys for the 1950's, but McCarver's last "season" was really just a cameo of a few games. Also looking for another guy whose career ended the same year but was a more regular player.

No for Pete Rose as the 60's player.
The 60's player is well-known but I hadn't realized his career started that early.

He debuted June 19, 1972. So I doubt it.

Reuschel was 1972-91 (also a pitcher so wrong either way). The guy I'm looking for had a few years on either side.
Still looking for the other 1950's guy as well.

All I got for the 60's is Reggie Jackson, but that can't be right.

Reggie is incorrect.
The '60s guy had his "official" rookie season in '72, but appeared in a handful of games in '69 and '71.

Hint on the 1960s: He was mentioned in Good Will Hunting as the hitter who waved the ball fair in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series.

Vic Davalillo 1960s? I still remeber his late game hit that beat the Phillies in 1978 that cost them a trip to the World Series

Here's one for NBA Slam Dunk Contest night:
Who are the two players in the top 75 of the career active scoring list (75th is 8155 career points) who are credited with zero career dunks?
