Not the lead singers first band?

Meat Puppets had such an underrated one-hit in the 90s.

I was thinking of something like this, but couldn't quite make it work. Several of those bands changed lead singers, or the original lead singer was more (or maybe equally) famous for another band. But I don't think it works for all - like the Meat Puppets.

A fairly tame one...

Who is the active leader in strikeouts among pitchers who have never started an MLB game? Second place is as close to #29 as he is to #1

Francisco Rodriguez?

(ETA: Not sure if he got a few starts early in his career.)

Krod is korrect. Papelbon's debut came as a starter, which I followed on my friend's "smart phone" from the Denver Airport. Refresh. Refresh. Refresh.

The Butkus Award is given annually to the NCAA's top linebacker, as voted by votery people.

Who is the only player to have won the award twice?

Great question (I looked it up). Who knew there are now Butkus awards for the NFL and High School?

Part II: Who is the only NFL player to win 2 "Professional" Butkus awards?

Part III: Who is the only person to win both the HS award and NCAA award?

sorry to steal your thunder before anyone even answered, but I am a self-centered dick.

There's a high school award? I'd guess DJ Williams

And Ray Lewis's bitch ass for professional. 2nd guess is Patrick Willis, 3rd guess is going to look it up.

Weeb Ewbank and Dick Vermeil are the only two coaches in the Super Bowl era with this distinction. What is it?

If this were it I would have also included Rod Rust.

Only tandem with exactly 5 Es, 2 Ws, 2 Ks and 1 V in their combined names.

Close enough. Specifically, they are the only two coaches to have led a team to a Super Bowl victory while having a losing record for their overall tenure with that team. Ewbank was 71-77-6 with the Jets and Vermeil was 22-26 with the Rams. Both had winning records with the other teams they coached.
