Yeah and I think I saw they're only going to show about 60 percent of the number of games Fox showed, which just seems dumb. I'm presuming they paid more in rights fees than Fox, so what's the rationale behind showing fewer games?
"Turner will pay around $65M annually to broadcast the UEFA properties while Univision is expected to chip in another $35M for the Spanish-language rights. The combined payment will be close to twice what Fox paid over the last rights-cycle."

https://www.forbes.com/sites/bobbymcmah ... long-tail/
Does the 60% account for stuff they are showing via Bleacher Report Live? Looks like lots of stuff will be on that stream ($).

Also if you don't know about this site for finding out where the game is on, you are missing out.

Yeah, it was probably the number of games they were showing for free vs. Fox. I'm absolutely not paying for any streaming bullshit from Turner so they can eat a dick.

That Korean keeper sucks. And just a reminder, if the Koreans win Gold, the player don;t have to serve in the military.

Anything else and they have a 2 year commitment on the horizon. That's some pressure. And for a player like Son, it also represents a loss of millions of dollars.

They chose their world cup keeper Jo Hyeon-woo as one of their overaged players. He too is trying to win his way out of military service.
However, this being the middle group match of the 3 that they have to play in 7 days, they rested him. I mean who can't beat Malaysia?

The Group phase has ended.

Korea's possible path to gold is now Iran-Uzbekistan-Vietnam-Indonesia(hosts)

I don't like their chances. Remember Uzbekistan and Vietnam met last January in the snow for the Asian U-23 title.

Not gonna pretend like I'm the Asian soccer expert, but looks like ROK's toughest game before the final would be the opener against Iran. Hard to see anyone else on that side of the bracket beating them.

Uzbekistan is the power at this age group right now. Won the U23 tournament last January.
Group stage here won 3 games outscoring teams 10-0. That would be a serious hurdle for Korea to pass, especially if their game against Iran is tough. The games in this tournament are only 3 days apart in hot humid conditions.

Korea is in the final after beating Vietnam 3-1. Gold should be theirs now after going through that tough bracket.

You have my condolences.

But great news for Spurs.

The Koreans celebrated the goals like guys who are about to get out of military service.

Pretty crazy situation in Denmark. The whole national team has gone on strike because the Danish FA doesn't allow the players to have individual sponsorship deals. Denmark has now been forced to call up players from the third and fourth tiers for their upcoming games against Slovakia and Wales. UEFA has already threatened to punish Denmark if they don't resolve this quickly (theoretically they could ban them from the upcoming Euros).

As it stands, this is their squad for the upcoming games:

Well, Cristian Ericksen could use the time off.

I suppose it was inevitable that the players would do this - think how many games they now have to play for the national team. You can see where it would be more of a hassle instead of an honour when they are scheduled for meaningless friendlies three weeks into a season that started three weeks after the end of the world Cup.

and the Wales game is their first UEFA Nations League. That is an official Euro match. All of those 3rd and 4th level Danes will be cap tied.

Is this more than just letting Danes wear the cleats they want and sell soft drinks? Seems like most countries and clubs have figured this out. Wear the cleats you want but when you are on official national team duty you wear the logos of the national sponsor

Nice Signings Sunderland...

Ever heard of Papy Djilobodji?

Just ate himself out of a 32,000 pounds a week job with League 1's Sunderland.

Not the only once highly-rated defender to abandon the team.
Ndong, a Gabon midfielder who became the club’s record signing at £13.6m when he signed from Lorient of France in 2016 at a time when Sunderland were in the Premier League, is said to be awol and Donald says the club do not know where the 24-year-old is.

Neymar wins for unintentional funny quote about his reputation causing him to get yellow cards for diving.
goal.com wrote:"I do not know what I have to do to live with it [this reputation], there's no way I'm going to stand for a situation like this. I think it has to end," he said, according to Globo Esporte.
"Stand for it"...I get the joke Neymar....

So I know some people here play Football (Soccer) Manager. Give me the basics; what device you use, how the gamplay goes (I'm picturing like the old MicroLeague Baseball but with a lot more front office-ing), etc. Worth getting into?

I still play Championship Manager 2010 from time to time. It's super fun, but super addictive. And it's not a game you'll play for 30 minutes at a time. Set aside a couple of hours to get lost and play a few weeks of gametime.

I play on my mac via steam. I won;t speak to gaemplay in newer editions because I think it's changed drastically, but it is 99% front office stuff and not actual matches. And you don't control the players at all once the match starts, only tactics and subsitutions.

Watching Alexis Sanchez right now reminds me of when Peyton Manning came back from that neck injury, where all of a sudden his arm was just clearly done. No zip on his passes, etc. Sanchez is done. He’s got no quickness left in his feet.

How did I know that first photo was going to be of Orlando City? Fuck them so hard. Wannabe Milwall pricks.

I will say my utter disdain for their ultra groups does make it enjoyable to attend a match. Normally, I'd root for the (somewhat close to my) home team, but I fucking hate those fans so much that I could really detach myself. To be honest, it's kind of how I watch FSU too.
