I just got Argentina-El Salvador at the Linc for me and my son (huge Messi fan) on 3/22. He chose that over WrestleMania. Cost was... more than advertised in DC.

For those that aren't aware, there is a sizeable Salvadoran community in the DMV.

Last three sporting events at RFK where El Salvador matches.

What am I missing here? Does DMV mean something different in your area? Or, is that a typo?

Or maybe Salvadorans really need to get their vehicles registered all at the same time.

My bad... what ljam said.

And the reason I'm not saying DC is that a TON of Salvadorans live in MD and VA suburbs.

I'll borrow the Garoppollo joke - If that was Pogba on performancing enhancing drugs, I can only imagine how bad he'd have been if he was playing clean.

The Valencia - Madrid game ending was a fiasco and completely avoidable except for silly soccer traditionalists. The college game has the clock right.

Reading about the field conditions at last night's USWNT game against Canada...what a mess. Can't believe they played under those conditions.

My issue with college and h.s. clock maintenance is having it run while the ball is out of play. I know some of that has been tightened up, but I really don't like watching a game clock run down to zero while a team that has the result in hand farts around on every goal kick and throw in.

But, generally I agree with you. These games with 15 minutes of added time (or whatever) are so dumb. (And then they almost always play and additional 60-90 seconds, at least) after the posted added time.)

And I have no idea what happened in the game you're referencing... Just my general opinion.

And since we didn't put together a thread on the W Gold Cup:

* The shit that Colombia pulled in that game was next level shithousery. They were extremely lucky to have a terrible ref, as they should've seen at least 2 red cards. And that's just from watching extended highlights.

* In particular, FIFA needs to send out guidance that if a player on the defending team actively fucks with the PK taker, they get a yellow. Period and end of story. Bitch about the call for a reasonable period of time, but once the ref has cleared the box, anyone fucking around gets a yellow, including the goalie. I hate that shit and it's gotten completely out of control.

* US losing to MEX is a classic "good, they needed that" type of loss. That team needs to stop fucking around with its roster and style of play. They have top tier talent -- they need the "new" coach to arrive yesterday... stop the tinkering.

Don't know about the Ref but Bellingham got 2 games for having a whole lot to say to the referee.

This article has the video (go to 9 minutes in). It is actually not as terrible as it sounds. The corner was taken and went long. Attacking team gets the ball but is going away from the goal when the ref starts to put the whistle to his mouth. As the player snaps a quick turnaround cross back across the net. Not great, but not like they took a corner and he blew it off the first kick.

Coincidentally I was in Wimbledon that rainy Saturday, having spent the week there for work. Lovely little town. Very posh. I had no idea this game was taking place later in the day and I didn't see the stadium. Although I did walk down and see the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet club.

Good win tonight looking pretty ugly still. So many decisions by Twila (the interim coach) have been suspect, and I too look forward to Emma Hayes getting to the states. We're going to her first game, the friendly in Denver against South Korea. Hoping for a Gold in the Olympics this summer and a Copa America semi or further for the USMNT.

I got tickets to see Man U Liverpool in Columbia SC, but only because it's a slight detour from the drive id already be making that day from Asheville to Tampa.

I wish San Marino accepted the challenge to play the been in Blazers National team. MiB were going to throw together a team of fans to play. They even created and sold sharp looking jersey for the game.

Had they gotten a big enough sponsor it would have happened. I mean a sunday league team got OG Ronaldo last weekend.
