And for all two of you still wondering about this, the last correct answer for my EPL question is Oldham.

Gah. Newcastle is hovering precariously two spots and three points above relegation - and both teams behind them have a game in hand.

Fuck.

So for those not paying attention Jozy A scored the game winner in the Dutch Cup. AZ beat PSV 2-1. AZ finishes their season on Sunday and former US National Ernie Stewart is once again being a punk. Ernie wants Jozy to rest. Jurgen wants Jozy to get in shape for WCQ and big time friendlies. Earnie does not have to release him early for the friendlies. Unclear is Jozy will stay with AZ next year but maybe Earnie is protecting his asset for transfer value and reducing injury risk.

Okay so you were probably paying attention to the FA Cup final winner...but down in Blackpool's league there was an amazing finish.

Watford v. Leicester City 2nd leg....SI does it justice

So Watford will play Crystal Palace for a spot in the EPL. Can't decide who to pull for on this one. Palace has Zaha (on loan from Man U), Kevin Phillips (on loan from Blackpool) and their captain's first name is Paddy (yes Irish). Palace was in administration in 2010. Crystal Palace also had the Crystal Palace Baltimore team that played at Homewood Field (Johns Hopkins).

Watford's team is owned by the same guy who owns Udinese and basically has loaned out a large chunk to help Watford get promoted. They are Sir Elton John's team. Also the squad Jay Demerit got his break in English football and promotion to the EPL.

So who is the squad we want to go up. Which team is more likely to give points to Blackpool next year?

Jealous and empathizing. I only spent 8 hours in Barcelona (stop off on our honeymoon cruise), but man do I love that city. By far our favorite stop. We planned on walking to Nou Camp from the boat. It was a hike, but we were used to walking everywhere back then. We got side tracked at la Sagrada Familia (the Gaudi Church). We planned on walking past but not entering, but the lines were really short, and the entrance fee wasn't too bad, so we went for it. Best decision ever. The views are phenomenal, and you absolutely have to climb the top of the spires. Especially if you are afraid of heights or claustrophobic. When you hit La Rambla, veer off onto the alleys along side the main streets. No tourists, and much cooler shops. Also, you gotta eat at the market. Better if you watch Food Network or Bourdain shows about it before you go. I wish I ate at the little nothing-looking shellfish counter I leaned against for 10 minutes after seeing Bourdain tell their story. One family ran the counter for 120 years or so, best seafood in the world, they catch their own shit, walk it over to the counter live, prepare it immediately, blah, blah, holy fuck, why didn't I turn around and fork over a couple Euro for the best meal I ever would have eaten? No, instead I bought some completely unmemorable... whatever the fuck I ate.

Seriously, best city I ever visited. Completely fell in love. Got lost, and had to stop in a French school so my wife could ask directions in her horrible High school French. Funny how often her terrible French ended up saving us on that trip. Enjoy!

I cannot wait. I'm busy panicking about packing, accommodations, being away from my boys for 12 days, etc. right now. I hope I chill out once I get on the plane.

I too, love Barcelona. Oiler and I were there the night Man U beat Bayern to complete the treble. Good, drunken times on las ramblas.

We've got tix to the game, reservations at one of the El Bulli spin off restaurants and two Context walking tours scheduled.

His departure was shitty, but I put the onus on Karl Oyston instead of Holloway.

Blackpool fans are torn on Ollie. They hate him for leaving like he did, but they appreciate him getting them to the EPL. Personally, I would rather see Ollie in the EPL than the Championship because he plays an attacking style and he's a colorful guy. But even if they make it to the EPL, I think CP will go down right away as they're losing their best attacking players.

I hope he can go out with dignity, not get caught up in less than flattering media (example Pele). Regardless of Pro/Cons, held on too long, made some big mistakes in his career, etc, I never questioned his love of playing the sport. I have a feeling that he will end up with some ownership in the MLS and living in a few places around the world, but also in the back of my head that says we will see him playing for Hollywood United F.C. or similar just to get a run in.

Copa del Rey has been quite good thus far. Athletico is content to sit back and attack on the counter. It's a scary proposition to watch, but its working well thus far, tied at 1.

Based on what I've read on Twitter, sounds like you saw one hell of a game.

Do the Spanish do handbags at 50 paces better than any other football nationality?

Dunno. That slow build-up is reminiscent of Brazil in the 70s-80s. That kid is clearly a student of the game's strategic history.

Smart kid; you'll note that he was well within the box before taking that dive.

Holy F, that's the hardest I've laughed in a long a time. The young, curly haired Wenger looks exactly like Mike Gordon, bass player for Phish. I'll have to dig up some pics later.
