I never think to watch Hot One’s, but when it pops into my feed and it’s someone I like, I watch, and it’s always good. It seems like a stupid premise, but the host is so likable and always connects with the guest and makes them seem like a real person. Plus I love trying hot sauces.

That's great. Only thing better would be a reaction of video of Trump watching this running in the corner.

I say this without any sarcasm at all: Videos like that are the only way AI is going to be regulated before it becomes impossible to decipher what’s real.

I did some rap battles on Chat GPT which were really good but then I literally couldn't think of one other thing to ask it.

Sean made an incredibly fucked-up, but awesome version of It Was a Very Good Year with him as Frank Sinatra that was the most Sean thing ever, so that was fun too. Other than that...pops and buzzes!

I look at you, cueball and I'm thinking 14 in the side pocket!

Sure hope they hurry up.

Students at school in Beverly Hills reportedly created and shared nude AI-generated images
An investigation is underway at Beverly Vista Middle School after students reportedly created and shared nude AI-generated images of other students.

A mother of one student at the school says that many girls were targeted by the deepfake pornographic images.

What's gonna piss me off the most is now he can just say anything that isn't on broadcast television is faked. Though it's not as if he cares if he says something wrong or ridiculous.

Whether it's AI or anything else that makes people go "WTF?" and feel helpless, honestly, I think we're all literally living in a real life daily slog of the movie Don't Look Up and it isn't getting better.

Case in point:

The silver lining here, such as it is, is that the more common these deepfakes get, the less convincing they will be.

Yeah, that's not how AI technology is progressing. We are in the stage RIGHT NOW where we can (mostly) tell. Particularly with video. With still images, I think we're pretty much past the threshold. But we're probably 12-24 months away from it being almost impossible to tell.

Shit needs to get regulated tomorrow.

Sorry, that's not what I meant. As far as the non-consensual deepfake porn stuff, if it becomes easy to make and common, then people will know that there's a good chance such videos are fake.

But that's a minor observation. I'm 100 percent in favor of regulation. There's a tort in many states called "invasion of privacy - false light," where a plaintiff can sue someone who conveys a false impression of someone is liable for damages. It's similar to defamation. That tort seems designed for this kind of thing.

But if the default assumption becomes something is fake, what's real? Essentially, a decade from now, how can you trust anything you didn't personally witness?

Right. It's only a silver lining in the case of fake porn of students.

It's a fucking disaster for news.

On the other hand, think how great it could be for sports. I'd pay good money for a deepfake video showing Alex Gonzalez cleanly fielding that double-play grounder a couple batters after the Bartman thing, plus a 1-2-3 ninth and the Cubs winning the 2003 NL pennant.

Sentences have been easy to make and common on the internet for 30 years and hundreds of millions of people can't tell what's fake.

I learned about Celisse through DMB. Skip to about 2:20 for her singing and guitar solo. The entire band is blown away by her.

Local hero. And yeah, she's fantastic. We've seen her 3 times now, and each one has been great. Right before Covid we saw her play with the Seattle Symphony, and they did a crazy amazing version of Elton John's "Madman Across The Water".

Here's them playing it at a sound check at Red Rocks (minus the Symphony):

Just read about this game - an Orchard Park weather disaster in 1974 between the Jets and the Bills.

Bills QB Joe Ferguson was 0/2 and Namath was 2/18 with 3 picks. And he didn't complete a pass until late in the 4th.
