That ad campaign annoys me so much. If these fucking cows somehow figured out how to communicate to us by writing words, they'd know how to spell them correctly!
Did your children not write a word until they were fluent?

We expect that from idiot humans. Not super-intelligent cows who have figured out how to work boomboxes.

My 9 year old sent this midnight text to the entire family chat from a sleepover last weekend. The blocked out image is of her best friend. Its funny without the misspelling but it definitely added a lot ...

Stopped at Giff's namesake burger joint in ABQ last week, still excellent. The boy (who basically survives on hamburgers) placed it 3rd in his hierarchy.
Also, Pericio's (small New Mexican chain) still slaps. Carne Adovada and rellenos from the heavens.

The best green chile cheeseburger is at The Grill on San Mateo. Damn thing tastes like a steak.

My kids wouldn't try them (I didn't really push them either.)
Also, hit up El Patio by UNM. The SAME lady making the chile when I worked there in the 90s is still hard at work!. God, I wish there were New Mexican places in CO...for those around NYC, Santa Fe BK is evidently pretty good (my sister gave it a thumbs up, she lived in ABQ back in the day.)
And The Grill has been noted, I was a Santa Fe Bite guy back in the day.

What? My kids LOVED sopapillas when they were younger. They would always ask my mom to make them when we'd visit...and then they'd eat so many they didn't want anything else for dinner.

Ya I don't understand it, but my wife is very anti-making kids try things (it was a huge thing in her household) and I am certainly not making them try as that means more for me.
Also, why do they stuff sopas? Waste of some delicious sweet bread IMHO.

Stuffed sopapillas are god's gift to us mere humans. You're lucky you made the Blake's post because normally I would not tolerate this sacrilege.

My kids were both EXTREMELY picky in their youth and we did some research and talked to their doc and came to the conclusion it's not really worth trying to get picky eaters to try a bunch of stuff. Just creates a whole bunch of issues down the road.
My daughter now will try just about anything. The boy is still pretty narrow, but he's gotten a lot better. Part of that was explaining to him that we're not going to go on trips with him because eating out is a big part of our travels and he was making it close to impossible to eat at cool places.
(You'd, perhaps, be surprised how many variations of chicken tenders or fish and chips show up on decently higher end restaurants.)

We made a deal with our youngest that we would get whatever he wanted either before or after, but the rest of us weren't always eating at Canes. He is much more open now to trying anything. Oldest always was that way.

I've never had a stuffed sopapilla. I'm sure they are delicious, but I've always just had them as a side with the entree.
The ones at Rancho De Chimayo are fantastic...

I’d been going my whole life but didn’t have my first one until 2013 and I’ve been hooked ever since. We have them at least twice each trip.

Carne adovada stuffed sopapilla!
I'll eat the carne in a burrito and save the sopa (with copious amounts of honey) for after!
My son is the worst, hamburger is his mainstay, that's meat and bun. He might dip in BBQ sauce, he's allergic to poultry if he exerts himself after eating (like Epipen and trip to the ER allergy) so it's hard to get him to branch out because he's scared of reacting. Did get him eating the Impossible "chicken" nuggets, so at least that's 2 things he'll eat.

I'm in the same boat as DiS. Now, based on all this folderol, I'm going to have to get a stuffed sopapilla baptism.

Same here...unfortunately I'm approximately a 23 hour drive from somewhere that would make a good one.

I've been badmouthing Panera for years now, but after confirming that what I thought was just a one-time mistake is actually store policy (depending on the store), I have a new go-to meal. It turns out that if you swap out the bread for a bagel in a lunch sandwich, you get two sandwiches.

My wife and I have a running joke about Panera Bread. We rode with another couple from Houston to a friend's birthday party in Fort Worth. The next day on the way back, we stopped at the best fried chicken place in the state where each order is half a bird. My wife will have the breast and I'll take the wing, leg, and thigh. So both couples order the same thing and they bring it out 8 pieces on one platter. The other couple takes both legs and I had just taken my wing and thigh. Before I had a chance to grab the other thigh since they took both legs, the husband takes both the breast and the remaining thigh. Since I'm not a very confrontational person, I just ended up leaving the table when he ordered a fucking dessert after inhaling half the chicken that was served to the table. I was silent the whole way home just wanting to listen to music (they drive with the radio off!) and get home fast before I say something. But this fucker wouldn't shut up about the most mundane shit. What nearly broke me was when he turned around to look at us and goes "so, have y'all been to Panera lately?" I wanted to respond "I'd kill for one since I had two small pieces of chicken two hours ago you mutherfucker", but I just looked down at my phone.
So anytime we come across someone who is annoying and won't shut up, one of us will say to the other "so, have you been to a Panera lately?"

I once heard a stand-up say that Panera is where you go for lunch after deciding to put your parents into a home.

So, my work often orders from Panera for catering... We're in a bit of a food desert, so...
Aside from Giff's rather specific outlier... What's wrong with Panera? Seems... fine?

Prices got out of control for worse portions (or so I thought). They smell weird? Drinks kill people. Basically a slightly above-average option that I personally ding extra points because they got lazy and bad from a much better starting point.

Similar, we have broken silences with "sure is a lot of cheese" for like 20 years now after an extremely hungover breakfast in Ocean City MD where the only thing we had the energy to speak about was how much cheese was on an omelette.

Its the same as Dominos logic where its almost impossible that there isn't a better non-chain option. Like even Wendy's maybe there aren't cheap burgers elsewhere and its quick, but pizza or a sandwich has direct and presumably far better comps everywhere.

I discovered this last year...I thought it was just my local location or a one-time mistake/somebody being nice. I ordered again and same thing...glad to know it's chain-wide.
