Are you going to drive back to Five Guys for this? The logistics need to be revealed here.

2 miles round trip but no, I'm not going to now that you guys have shamed me.

I might need to amend the first post for that.

If you were in the hood a misspelled and grammatically incorrect sign would specify very clearly that this is not permitted... in addition to stating the astronomical cost of a cup of ice.

You were seriously considering getting in the car to go a mile each way for a vanilla coke refill if not for the Swamp?

Imagine how much better this thread would be if 'loma had driven those two miles only to have his refill denied by one or more of the Five Guys, and came to the Swamp with an after-report.

AB, bronto and/or PDX are the true Assholes here.

If one person denied Jerloma at a Five Guys I wouldn't put it past him to demand a ruling from literally five different guys on the premises to get a majority call before he left.

You know, in hindsight, we totally should have told him it was OK. I apologize to all of swampdom.

What the scale of asshole-dom is you're opening a door to walk into an establishment and stop to look at a sign for a second (specificially put there to get your attention) and the guy behind you sighs about being made to wait for an extra five seconds before walking in?

You, or the guy behind you? On a scale of 1-10, I'd say it's about a 6 and a 9, respectively.

I can live with that.

You can't be serious.

Yes, once you leave the premises you are SOL.
Does this apply to all-you-can eat places too?

Of course. It's all you can eat in one visit, not "pay once and eat here forever". Seriously, when you leave the restaurant, it's over.

There are corrolarys though. In an airport for example if they have self serve soda I will go back for a refill from my seat in the terminal. Especially since they ding you for like $3 on what costs 10 cents.

They don't sell air in an airport for 3$.

That meme existed for a very, very long time before it was commandeered by the alt right crowd. I mean, Harambe with red hair would have been better, but it sucks that that had to be the end of their coolness.

I don't know what the most profitable fast food restaurant in the country is, but there's an In-N-Out opening on the Strip on Wednesday and I fully expect it to give whatever it is a run for the money.

Been a minute since I've had In-N-Out, but a much longer minute since I've been in Vegas. I remember Fatburger was on the strip.

It looks like this will open north of that at The Linq. I'm not familiar with that place. What did it used to be?

This is the Linq district between the Linq hotel (formerly Imperial Palace) and the Flamingo. The district itself used to be an alley.

Wasn't there already an In n Out near MGM?

Across I-15 on Dean Martin Drive. About a good mile walk if not even longer.

Check Google maps. You're right. It's just not as close as you think it is. It's just not "on the strip," as Brian notes.

It's weird. The place I was thinking of was on the strip, just north of the northernmost entrance of MGM on the strip. I'm probably remembering it wrong. It could have easily been a Krispy Kreme or Chick fil A or some other fast food place that I thought of as novelty at the time.

Could it be the aforementioned Fatburger?

Yeah, there's definitely a Fatburger (and has been for quite some time) right next to MGM Grand.

I imagine the top dog is the White Castle that opened on the Strip last year that literally ran out of food each of its first three days of existence.

Also, the answer to the MGM question is Fatburger which has been there two decades that I can personally attest to. Bonus: they have now opened a Strip-side bar with seating. There are usually cute girls passing out two-for-one drink tickets at all hours.

These guys moved to the main strip? Anyone else ever eat here?

They used to be in Chandler, AZ. I went to that location before they got booted because people got mad at them. Their overweight unofficial spokesperson died and that left a sour experience on everyone. They moved to Dallas, where I've read they didn't pay rent. Shortly after they moved to Vegas where they've been for a while now. Last time I went in there was 2012 when I visited Vegas for the weekend before I went to Germany. The food is actually pretty good, but watching 400+ pound people step on a scale that activates alarms and flashing lights like a circus sideshow was very off putting.
